After the devastating Viltrumite War, the once mighty Empire, with such heavy losses, laid low and attempted to rebuild their forces on Earth. After a coup, Grand Regent Thragg was banished from his lunar colony, and thrown into the cosmos to "build a better life". Using his time, he proceeded to "get busy" on the planet of Thraxia, and raise forth a mighty family of Thraxian-Viltrumite hybrid children. Numbering in the hundreds of thousands, Thragg's children trained and increased their strength over the course of six years, before launching an all-out war of conquest across the universe. The Insurgency's future is over the edge however, as Thragg's hand's off approach to his children has left many disconnected and desiring healthier lives, and with the recent return of Mark Grayson, it seems a final showdown is nearing.
