After the short but devastating Second Viltrumite War, which saw Thragg's final defeat and the surrender of the Thraxian-Viltrumite hybrids, Mark Grayson took the imperial throne, and was crowned the rightful ruler of the Viltrum civilization. After living through so much violence, bloodshed, and carnage, Mark decided to use his own life as a blueprint for the future of the Viltrum people. Now, hundreds of years later, the Authority is an intergalactic (and in some cases, multi-intergalactic) peacekeeping authority, patrolling the universe to save lives, enforce peace, and maintain stability. Despite the Authorities rather "direct" approach, many across space view the Neo-Viltrumite's as the greatest gift the universe spawned, and their blood-soaked past is far-behind them.
