You recent fractals remind me of an Italian artist who used to make some sort of cuts on monochromatic canvases. They really resemble that style, IMHO. Well done!

Your description brought to mind a fabric artist who uses a technique where he quilts together several layers of differently-colored fabrics and then slashes through the top layers to reveal the colors underneath. I've seen some of his art-to-wear pieces in person, and they are incredibly beautiful. His name is Tim Harding: [link] .
