Turns out I -can- draw a cute personified Twilight Sparkle. -was having his doubts-Worked on this while doing a request and then I got too into this and wanted to get it off my plate asap, lol. Sorry?!

It's fun to just mess with various expressions too. Hint: about 70% of it comes from the eyebrows alone! If not more, lol.

I think the cuter nerds are the more timid ones, and as such, we tend to find them a bit less than we'd like to; sadly, I'm one of those shy nerds myself! Haha.
Also, a note; if I ever draw more of Twilight like this, I'm thinking about giving her braces (even though she doesn't -really- have them). I feel like that would add to the "cute nerd" idea I have for her. (Unless it's met with utter disgust among fans, in which case I can remove them, lol.)

Reference material is generally a necessity for me actually, hehe. It really helps get details as well as general proportion or angular ideas. I'm glad you like her! : )

That's much likely agreeable there they help a lot because when you try drawing something of your own or have creative ideas for character references are always good just as long as you don't steal the ideas from someone.

The initial idea for the picture was to make her sad/disappointed that it's too windy out for her to read without the pages of her book going around. I actually scrapped a finished line art of Owlicious in the background struggling to fly, lol.

I was thinking of titling it something humorous, but I decided against it simply because I couldn't think of anything really worth while, lol. Maybe I'll edit in a title for it later on if I think up something really good, hah.

Nice! Gradients/airbrush colors + hard shadows = yay yay nomm. And DETAILL, dose jeans. I remember my first realization of the awesomeness of detail, and it was indeed jeans that brought this enlightenment to me.

I've always known detail (especially on clothes and hair) really adds to the picture--whether it's drawn in a realistic style or a simplistic cartoony one--so I at least wanted to get -some- detail on -something- for this, lol. Gotta start somewhere after all. = P
