apologising for faving one of your older artworks, but damnit I'm loving it! xD
I was browsing through Farseer fanart and I was literally saying out loud 'Chade is totally underrated' and poof, your drawing popped up!

Rereading the books and I simply can't get enough of them. Whenever I finish reading the lot, I feel a gaping hole in my heart where Fitz used to be...

Great drawing, I remember that scene, it's one of my favourite ones in that book Well done!

Fitz tears are funny. xD It looks kinda odd because the drawing is like-realistic and his tears looks like from a comic or... Whatever.
I do like it a lot! ♥ You color so well.

vihmakivi In reply to SANU-CHAN [2009-10-11 11:58:27 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I don't consider my drawings purely realistic Of course they aren't supposed to look like comic either. Perhaps I shouldn't have drawn the tears at all.
Thanks for mentioning it anyway

SANU-CHAN In reply to vihmakivi [2009-10-11 18:34:48 +0000 UTC]

That's why I said "LIKE-realistic"~ Haha being a smartass. xD
I think you could try to make his face wet or something like that... The tears look kinda odd.

vihmakivi In reply to SANU-CHAN [2009-10-16 17:57:34 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I think my pencil lines are too robust to achieve a fine effect such as wetness :S However, I could try that when I'm painting with acrylic colours. Thanks for the advice

Aww indeed Thanks for the comment.
This picture is supposed to illustrate the part where Fitz couldn't sleep because he didn't want to disobey Chade, but couldn't bring himself to stealing from king Shrewd and Chade found him crying.

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-08-28 06:57:44 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't exactly "released" here either. The original books were ordered from America by bookshops and then libraries bought them for people to borrow. And since the series proved to be popular, it was eventually translated to Estonian. But I've only read them in English.

It's a shame your country doesn't have them, because it really is one of the best stories I've read in years

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-08-29 05:25:51 +0000 UTC]

I hpoed it's gonna be released here soon, is it a fantasy story? or else?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-08-31 13:51:34 +0000 UTC]

Well, the author first wrote one trilogy, The Farseer Trilogy. It's a fantasy series and it deals with the life of a boy who was born as a royal bastard in a kingdom called The Six Duchies. He grows up, trained as an assassin, to serve his family. There's magic involved in the story too. And interesting, mysterious characters such as the king's Fool. He's not completely human.
Each book is about 700 pages long
And after that Robin Hobb wrote another trilogy, The Liveship Traders, whose action takes place in the same world. But the characters are different.
And then she returned to the characters of the Farseer trilogy, writing another three books, The Tawny Man Trilogy. I'm currently reading the second one of those

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-03 12:16:26 +0000 UTC]

sounds like real long story...

but 700 pages was nothing, since I've read 'Taiko' which is about 1400 pages long..

I really want to read The count of Monte cristo, but, my school Library, they don't have it....it's really such a shame...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-04 12:10:25 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it's a really long story. In three or four weeks I've read five books, each of them 700 pages And I've got only one left to read!
1400 pages is... much. Very much =S

I have read Count Monte Cristo and I've also seen a film. It's one of the world classics, so I hope you can read it some day.

YUSH! keep the hard work!
it is....it's thick like a dictionary....but the story are really beautiful ,it is about Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the first shogun of Japan during the war period, and about Nobunaga too!

I know the story already, and I've seen a movie about it,but hte movie's suck...it's too shallow...so I hoped I can get the real book soon

I know little - actually almost nothing - of the history of Japan...

Alexandre Dumas is a talented writer. I used to be a fan of his adventure stories, including the Three Musketeers. And speaking of great Frenchmen, I also enjoyed Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

I just discovered that there are a whole 15 films made of Count of Monte Cristo! I've only seen one of them, a rather old one.

haha...

that's plenty, though I see only one of them, which quite dull.... I want to see the epic one!!
and the other was an anime about Monte cristo....

The film I saw was very long, but otherwise it was interesting. I don't know where or when it was made =S

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-09 03:34:03 +0000 UTC]

the one I saw was very lame...the character Albert or Fernando didn't get much attention...they even changed the ending!! it's a HAPPY ending!! the count and mercedes and Albert finnaly live happily ever after(they made it Albert was count's real son in the story)!!frans didn't even existed! the story sure lost it's value...
it's very2 disappointing and lame.....

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-10 14:40:34 +0000 UTC]

Was it an American film? Hollywood often pays little attention to original story and contributes to bringing in larger sums of money. I was so disappointed in a Hollywood film of King Arthur. There was absolutely no truth in it, only names of the characters. And Keira Knightley was there. What do you think of her?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-11 09:08:15 +0000 UTC]

I think it was American, since they spoke in English...but I'm not quite sure though,it's very old...but sure it's really disappointing...

Kiera? uhm....skinny? *duh!*
so what do you think?
and yeah, the movie was failed....

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-11 09:52:07 +0000 UTC]

I don't like Keira Knightley at all. She's quite annoying Although I did love Pirates of the Carribean, mostly because Johnny Depp is the best.

Have you seen the Hollywood film of King Arthur?

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-11 10:03:50 +0000 UTC]

nah, but I know the film, besides, I'm not quite interested, the rumor that it is quite bad spread through my ears.....

yup! jhonny depp is the best!

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-11 10:21:04 +0000 UTC]

I would really like to see a film of King Arthur that is actually good and accurate...

Yeah. Johnny Depp rules Especially in Tim Burton's films. Have you seen Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street?

yup, he looked beautiful and young there, very different from the pirate.

I wish I could draw him too...

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-12 06:51:12 +0000 UTC]

thanks! I'll try, but his image changed in every movie, so I think it's kinda hard.........

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-12 07:20:04 +0000 UTC]

You just have to pick one movie and draw him as he was there That's only a suggestion though. I'd like to draw him as Willy Wonka, but I have already promised to draw so many other things, so I don't think I have time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kuroRAN In reply to vihmakivi [2008-09-13 03:33:17 +0000 UTC]

I like him as Jack Sparrow, but I don't draw mustache...or beard...that's a problem here...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vihmakivi In reply to kuroRAN [2008-09-14 09:37:30 +0000 UTC]

Hm... why don't you draw him as Willy Wonka then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

that's a good idea, thank you

but, maybe later...got too busy these days...
