Well, here's what I should not have been doing instead of working on my animation. Shaddap, I got some rough work done this evening, honest! Buddy Pine/Syndrome from The Incredibles. OpenCanvas, and now I feel guilty for spending less time on Elastigirl. Damn, I guess I'll just have to do MORE Incredibles fanart, to appease my conscience...

Sometimes I wonder what young Buddy's reaction would be if he knew he grew up to be a SUPER VILLAIN. Β Part of me thinks he wouldn't care, since villains get to design all the tricks and traps a hero surpasses to prove their ideals/beliefs are superior. Β Another part of me thinks things might have been different.

I did feel a bit sorry for him when Mr. Incredible sent him home [must've been embarrassing up the wazoo], but I just can't feel sorry for very long for someone who had all those supers killed [that scene where Mr. Incredible is weighed down by all the "crossed out" supers in Syndrome's Cerebr--Er, super computer], and doesn't really seem to feel the slightest bit of guilt or remorse.
As a drawing, though, it's great.

I love this one-such a wonderful contrast here between the hopeful, eager-to-help little Buddy as a kid, and the angry, hurt young man he became. Sorta sad really, at what a wasted opportunity that was, thanks to a thoughtless put-down from a much-admired adult who should have known better.

No art classes in the course yet (much to my annoyance), so pretty much self-learned here. I think they plan to introduce art classes later though (they should, dammit! I'm sick of teaching myself, I'm a terrible student AND a terrible teacher!)
