Princess Nacre Shell Pearl

Nickname(s): Pearl (she will NOT let you call her by her real name), Midnight, Knight Knight
Parents: Princess mi Amore Cadenza, Shining Armor
Siblings: Flurry Heart (sister), Riposte (brother)

Personality/Background:
Mischievous with a rebellious streak, Pearl only follow the beat of her own drum. She is a very smart and clever mare and always has a new plan in store for sneaking out of the castle undetected every night. She will do almost anything to be able to do what she wants, breaking rules and lying straight in someone’s face just to go do what she really wants to do in that moment.

Her parents worry for her safety every day, as she was very weak and sick when she was just a little filly, making them become extremely protective of her.

Their worries and fears usually backfires though as she only feels more contained the more worried they are and gets a bigger need to escape the castle and fly free.

Pearl doesn’t care for castle life and despises being treated like a princess, unlike her sister who seems to love it. The balls, royal gatherings, diplomatic visits and more are excruciating for her to sit through and she will do all in her might to try and escape from such events.

Pearl also has a lot of suitors after her, and stallions who keep asking her for her hoof. This just annoys her to no end and she complains about it often, yelling about why they can’t just go to Flurry who enjoys all of that attention.

Despite her looks Pearl isn’t very lady-like, at all. She has no problem getting her hooves dirty and truly enjoys any kind of manual labor and work that involves a lot of strength and hoofwork.

What she really wants is to hang out with the commoners. To sit in a bar with some freshly made cider in her hoof and singing drinking songs till her throat get sore, that’s just one of the things that she would rather do than any sort of “royal duties”.

Pearl also has a burning passion for jousting and often trains with the royal jousting team under supervision from her father. This is… okay, in her opinion, but as soon as she gets the chance she will sneak out. Disguised with charcoal colored mane and armor that covers her cutiemark she will train with the local jousting team whom she thinks has the biggest hearts and skill.

She has made lots of friends with her alter ego Midnight (usually called something silly like, Knight Knight by her friends)

She really enjoys moving the streets as just a normal pony and not just the princess, and getting to know the real ponies of the crystal empire. However she has had a few unfortunate run-ins with sketchy characters, but this has never deterred her from going back out on the streets.

Pearl loves her family to bits but she does see her parents as kind of suffocating, with their overprotectiveness of her. She also has a hard time getting along with her brother and her sister due to their very different interests.

She is however closer to her cousin, Inkwell. She will constantly drag him along on her escapades into the city usually disguising him as well, as to not attract the wrong kind of attention. She does it mainly to get him to smile and to pull him out of his constantly grumpy state, with mixed results.

Pearl really likes Inkwell’s little sister, Marigold, as well, but do wish that he would be nicer to her.

Eyyoo one of, well, MANY shiningdence kiddies. Is 4 to much? Her two brothers are supposed to be twins but the more I think about it the more it feels like 4 royal babies are perhaps too much for just one royal family...
