Personality: Curious spark of joy. Tries his best to see good in situations others don't see it. This part of him kind of faded as he got to experience the terror of raider attacks on town and witnessed villagers getting turned into raiders against their will. He still tries to maintain this positive point of view to keep his adoptive family's morale higher. Very self-conscious about his weight, as he was bullied before for being fat. He is getting in shape though! He carries strong opinions of his parents about certain things and struggles to admit he doesn't agree with them.

History:
  Before moving to Lilypad:
Jake had it all or so he thought. His parents didn't struggle financially, he was getting all the toys and gadgets he asked for, he was well fed... maybe even overfed. Various people would take care of him; there were aunties and uncles, but they seemed distant or like they didn't want to do this to begin with. Jake wouldn't see them after one or two meetings anymore and didn't remember much of it. There was also a nanny or two before he ended up in Melissa's house. She wasn't thrilled about it, because she was the only member of this family who knew exactly what was going on behind the scenes. Her son and his wife were on a brink of divorce. Jake was still her grandson though and she refused to push him away, but since they lived relatively close to his parents, Melissa decided to move out with him so he wouldn't be dragged into their weird games, and for her own sanity.
Things didn't go as planned though. There was some sort of commotion involving their luggage, and while Melissa tried to solve it out, Jake heard a taxi driver asking who is going to Lilypad and jumped right inside the car, thinking granny will join him soon. She didn't though, so he walked out of the car with a few other people, very curious about the new town, and met an anxious cat who took him under her wing.

  After moving to Lilypad:

Spring 2019

  May was a struggle with rains and floods. Jake didn't understand much of what was happening and was kinda grumpy about having to stay at home while he just came to this new town! He wanted to explore it and meet other kids! Danka distracted him with games and food though, so he waited patiently, and when the spring showers were over, he got her to take him on a trip around the town and pose to photos for him. Cherry blossom season was perfect for that!

Summer 2019

  When Samuel disappeared, and seemingly entered the Hollow Forest, Jake wanted to join the search for him. He got angry Danka changed her mind about helping to find the shopkeeper. They had to help! So he found a good moment and ventured into the Forest by himself . He got lost himself though, understanding now that maybe the cat was right not to join the search. Fortunately, Triv found and helped him reunite with both Danka and his granny Melissa, who finally managed to get to Lilypad.

Since then, Jake started to learn about various bugs and fish of the town by catching them and getting photos of his catches. He especially liked to listen to Kato. Initially, he was afraid she would judge him for his chubbiness like other kids before used to, but Kato liked a good meal herself and never paid attention to his appearance, which was quite reassuring for him!
It wasn't the end of adventures though, as not long after these events, a Fleapocalypse surrounded the town and pretty much everyone with fur got attacked by huge amounts of small bugs. Jake made sure everyone around him knew about this struggle. Given, how many villagers had a similar problem, someone had to have a good cure for the itchiness, right?!

Autumn 2019
During Halloween, a huge group of raiders attacked Lilypad, causing panic and chaos. Advised to scare them away with noise, Danka, Triv, Melissa and Jake screamed while running home, but before they managed to reach their destination, Pogo managed to pour raider potion into screaming cat's wide open mouth. Jake watched in terror as the cat collapsed, coughing and gasping for air. With how terrifying it looked, at that moment the stoat was sure Danka was dying, and there was nothing he, Melissa or Triv could do but watch. They were still in the open though. Melissa snapped out of the initial shock, ordered Triv to grab Danka and they ran back home. They spent the rest of Halloween and the next day together, while Danka was asleep most of the time. She didn't remember what happened and appeared very confused. There was no doubt she got turned into a raider that day though. Melissa was keeping her guard up, but Jake didn't want to believe she would turn against them.
Winter 2020
    There was even more trouble on the way. The Day of Decay happened, causing Melissa and Jake to lose their house. Jake, Triv, and Danka were out of harm's way when the house was demolished and getting absorbed by the beast, but they had to approach it anyway because the last thing they knew, Melissa was still there. All Jake could do was throwing snowballs at the beast, which didn't help much in the long run. Sprout was nearby at the time and led the kid to safety i Meadow Heart Playhouse, where Jake was anxiously awaiting his almost-family. Since he and Melissa were basically homeless at this point, Danka and Triv took them in. While a lot of his belongings were gone now, Jake was happy about this outcome.

Spring - Fall 2020
Most of the time was unusually uneventful, and nobody complained about it. Melissa managed to fill out the papers to sign Jake up for school, so his time was filled with classes, and then bug catching and fishing with Triv, Danka, and Melissa in the afternoons. Triv signed up as well, so they would go to school together, but split for different classes due to age difference.
Halloween marked Danka's first year anniversary of becoming a raider. It was also the day raiders of Hollow Forest attacked Lilypad again. This time, Jake and the rest didn't go treat-or-tricking due to bad memories from last year, but they stood guard at their lawn with inflatable hammers and megaphones to keep the threat away from the house. Jake wasn't there to hear it, but when the attack was over, Danka came back with surprisingly defeated look on her face. Apparently, Mayor Poach announced all raiders are now banned from Lilypad and expected to leave immediately. Jake helped her searching on various websites if there's an antidote to the raider potion, but to no avail. In December, Danka packed her things and moved to Nightshade.

Winter 2021 - Spring 2022
  While Danka was gone, Jake and the rest had to move on with their lives, even though it was hard to accept this harsh reality. Triv was helping by distracting him from Danka's absence with various activities. They joined Lilyscouts, went to Taylor's to find Jake's personal style, participated in Val's classes now and then, and Triv taught Jake how to put together a video on TheyTube. There were also a few minor, compared to Halloween ones, raider attacks, and the stoat was learning how to protect himself from the shadows. He was always looking for Danka but didn't see her.
Summer 2022
For June's big attack on Lilypad , Jake was ready, swinging an inflatable hammer around. Since Melissa insisted they stayed in a relatively safe radius from the house, he just smacked any raider that came too close to their fence. Triv's throat was hurt by constant screaming into the megaphone, so she could barely speak. They exchanged weapons, and at some point, Jake spotted a raider running away from other raiders. Even though she was in a kitsune form, Jake saw something familiar in the raider and directed Triv's attention to her. The dragons legs were longer than his, but after a moment of hesitation, Jake decided he wanted to help too and ran after them, screaming into the megaphone on his way to scare away other shadows surrounding the town. As he finally caught up with them, Triv and Danka were attacked by Petunia, but Jake scared her away with the loudest scream he could generate at that moment. When things started to look up, Finch appeared and cursed Danka, turning her into an alarm clock. Triv and Jake refused to let her take the clock away and luckily were left alone by the witch.
Fall 2022-Winter 2023
Sometime after the curse, Triv became a witch with an intention to bring Danka back. Jake assisted her and Sparrow while they worked on breaking the curse but, even though he was doing a lot, he didn't feel like it was enough. After saving enough for a Witch Amulet and a lot of consideration recommended by Melissa, Jake became a witch himself and studied under Sparrow who helped them bring their friend back . Eventually, they managed to lift the curse, but Jake noticed something wasn't right, as the raider's tail puffed up. When the catsune ran away from them, Sparrow explained to him and Triv that raiders are naturally conditioned to fear witches. So that's why granny wanted them to think this decision through ... Danka suffered a memory loss and presence of three witches scared and prompted her to run away. Melissa managed to talk through to her and with help of Jake's photos and stories, Danka recovered most of her memories.
Throughout that time, Jake was pondering about his relationship with his parents. It took him some time to realize they don't really call him on their own, nor have they visited him in Lilypad since he moved here with granny Melissa. He started to piece together that maybe they didn't love him as much as he thought they did, now that he could compare his pre-Lilypad life to relationship he built in this town. Granny was always there for him, and Triv and Danka spent time with him, taught him new things, and cared for what he had to say. Jake was aware none of them had the wealth of his parents, but it was never a problem, because with them, Jake never needed material goods to be happy. He learned his parents were about to get a divorce when he and granny moved to Lilypad and by now are probably divorced, which struck him. None of them ever told him about it during their phone calls. Melissa assured him it was not his fault, but he has yet to believe her words because as of now, he doesn't see a better explanation for them splitting and not caring enough to even ask if he wants to move back with one of them.

Ari Kat (by zixmix ) - a nice cat lady Jake knows is friends with Danka. She distracted him once from the chaos happening during the Decay Beast's attack on town with a conversation, sweet treat, and a claw machine full of colorful plushies he treasures to this day.

Danka (by Me) - the first person Jake met in Lilypad. She took care of him until Melissa arrived. He could sense her worrying a lot around others, but she was nice to him and took him bug catching, and fishing

Melissa (by Me) - Jake's granny. Jake always saw her as nice and caring, but growing up in Lilypad he noticed Danka is kind of afraid of her and Triv's more respectful around the caracal than usual. Melissa fills the role his parents failed to fill in his life.
Triv (by Me) - A vlogger with make-up tutorials Jake follows (lowkey interested in the art of make-up, but especially for how COOL she is). She got him out of the Hollow Forest when he was lost and soon moved in with Danka, so he got to know her better. When he and Melissa moved in with them, he grew to see Triv as his older sister. She teaches him to accept himself for who he is.
Jake's parents (personal NPCs) - They were always very busy with their jobs and would never spend time together with him. Jake managed to sometimes catch mother's attention by taking photos of her, which she enjoyed posing for, and he never got much time to develop a relationship with his father. After moving to Lilypad, Jake would call them now and then, but they'd never call first. Eventful life in Lilypad would redirect his attention elsewhere, but nowadays, Jake picked up on something being wrong in the state of their relationship and eventually learned they were divorcing . And apparently none of them is interested in the fruit of their broken marriage.
