**SPOILERS FOR THE SWEET FAR THING**

I've just finished reading the third book in Libba Bray's trilogy, which began with A Great and Terrible Beauty and continues with Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing and I admit I'm slightly depressed.

In any case, this is set beyond TSFT in America as Gemma looks out at the sea, thinking of Kartik and the time they spent together.

I would still suggest reading the last book. It's really not as terrible as you might think. And it's a really good book. ;]

i actually just hit the half way point its pretty good but i dont like the fact that its just every where you know he hates her the other guy hates her pips evil the plot is quite lot in this book but i am not a critic its a wonderful book you are right though i shall be upset about him dieing although it does not seem so bad but simon middleton his father i dont like it it is so far out of the story it really shalll amaze me when/if it should tie up all the loose ends it has recently created

i just finished the sweet far thing tonight, and oh my gawd was it depressing!!! if it weren't for the refuge i find in twilight, i'd be torn up for AGES. ...i probably still will be... but i like to think of it this way, he's waiting for her. that dream at the end, in my mind, he was waiting on the other side of the river, in the afterlife. and he's waiting for the day that she'll join him. and that makes it bearable for me

I know. I was so depressed when I first finished it. It was such a great series, though.

Yeah, that does make it a bit better. x]

Ahaha, it's okay. I ramble all the time. xD

Yeah, I've read the first three books of the Twilight series, and I'm still waiting for the humongous hold list to decrease at the library for Breaking Dawn.

I'm a total cheapskate. I tend to borrow books from the library rather than buy them. xD But, I'm considering it. x]

lol i'm a freak. i own multiple copies (in hardcover) of the books...and i'm considering getting a third set, ya know...just in case something happens to my original backup set i'm so bella all the way. lol it's not even funny. one of my best friends who never tells anyone what they want to hear just to make them happy told me the other day that i had reminded her of bella since way before i even knew who she was...that was pretty cool

lol everyone is weird in some way, and we're all nerds on the inside, no matter what embrace it. i'm a klutz that can't dance to save my life. and is that annoying...well, yeah. but what am i gonna do about it?

Oh, trust me. I do. I'm a proud nerd. ;D And I hang out mostly with other nerds, too.

Don't worry. I'm the same way. I'm always bumping into things. And I've never even really tried dancing. Except once when I was four and I tried ballet. It was a total disaster...

I had just finished this book tonight and I bawled. No, I didn't just cry, I bawled. I was crying from where Kartik saved her and probably will be for a few days to come. I can't let the book out of my sight. I'm just like, "KARTIK! *bawl*" I admit, though, that the ending and twists were great. But I miss Kartik dearly... v_v

Me, too. As soon as I finished the book, I called my friend (who already finished it) to rant about how upset I am. I was depressed the entire day.

Thanks.^^ I'm glad you like it.

taito [2008-03-21 07:23:01 +0000 UTC]

Aw, I loved the ending. Yeah, it was incredibly sad, but I think that was kind of the point. I mean their relationship would have been seriously difficult if they'd ended up together in that era (its hard enough dating an Indian boy now, on both sides of the coin). The fact that they go on loving each other is just so...oh dear, now I'm going to think about it. The book did make me cry.

Anyway, the point of this all was that your image is lovely.

Violetphantasy In reply to taito [2008-03-21 18:56:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's true, I suppose. I admit, it was slightly less depressing when I read the ending for the second time. I mean, it was kinda hopeful in a way - how all the girls got to choose how to live their life. Like an ending that's really a beginning.

No matter what you say ;D He he.
Secondly, your original photos (Like the Lions one, Tahoe, Crater lake) are fantastic.
So that's 2 topics. Your great at both <3.

I know how you feel. I couldn't believe what Libba did to her readers with that ending! I've read each book as soon as it came out, so that's years spent, waiting for the beautiful, romantic ending I was /certain/ would come, and then this happens... I couldn't believe it.

It's a very beautiful piece, by the way, now that I've ended my rantings.

Violetphantasy In reply to Pegacorn-master [2008-03-15 03:52:39 +0000 UTC]

I know...I was really disappointed. But, I've [kinda] gotten over it now. I suppose it was also a hopeful ending as well....other than him dying. Bittersweet would be the word for it.

Thanks.^^ I just had to let out my feelings some way. x]

I don't get it. How do you get such ordinary three things and combine them in one SPECTACULAR image of one? Katherine, your one of the greatest people on Deviantart. I'm jealous. Your own photos are just as beautiful and I believe, they are much better than any real photographers I know. 1671731753357/10 (:
