Description
Decided to apply my newly discovered photoshop knowledge (the same knowledge I used to animate Sidur's glowing ley armor) to these progression pictures supplied to me by IdleHQ during the process of creating the masterpiece that later turned into the 'Welcome to Springfog' picture.This picture features a NPC family of characters created by myself and friends to populate an old secluded manor in an RP world we have been designing. This family was meant to function as an Addams Family spin-off in a D&D fantasy setting.
Characters from left to right are as follows; Yorick, Baleth, Neerdra, Izzdrin, Altondril, and Nadzt. More information on the characters can be found at the following thread where we've built their character profiles; www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/view…
Credit for this super awesome masterpiece goes to I cannot thank him enough for this beautiful piece of art. It will be loved for a VERY long time.

The making of... An amazing picture that has proven legendarily difficult to color XD
It's like an adult coloring book page XD

True that!
The task would likely have been completed easier if I had thought to ask Idle for the PSD file way back when he first completed this project. xD And difficult or not, your attempt remains the best of them all so far

Probably, yeah XD
But I think treating it like a coloring book is a surprisingly accurate statement. So much detail *q*
And thanks ^^
Honestly, I kinda think if you just got out a color picker and started using the paint bucket tool to fill in what color you thought things might be (I think SAI might let you select on one layer and fill on another?), that might be the best start XD
So many details, so little clue what should be what XD;
I think having a flat version might be a boon in this case because it'd give people attempting to color it some idea of what should be what color when they try to shade it.
Otherwise, what I always try to do is select the "shapes" of the different "objects" on the screen and fill them in as a solid color (like, say one character is blue, another is green, just to separate them out) so that even without the lineart, you can sort of tell what is where. I thought it might help somehow if I mentioned that XD; -a little sleepy-

Yeah, sooner or later I'll plug the picture into photoshop and try coloring the flats piece by piece.

This is excellent! It is truly a great pic with tons of details, so it's very interesting to see the development process.
