Description
heh...Well...
This took me 'bout three hours to do on the first half then the next night it was another three...or was it four? I CANT REMEMBER!!! Darn you Godsmack!!! You made me lose time!!! LMAO!!!
Well anywho; Heres my first ever actual try at makin a blue planet with some real land and I tried to see about some civilization on the planet this time(the city lights)...And the green moon is my first try at a mega forest-like-moon(if I had put the higher res' up here you could see but thats WAAAAY(!!!) too big...it was 3200 x 2400
Then I stuck in the ol' plain dead moon(tried something different with it...
And heres me fav part that I liked...a mistake...If ya didnt see it look up in the upper right corner of the pic...My first ever solar eclipse! I liked this enough I just might go and make a large version of this eclipes!
Note
Let me know if ya likes! please...
Edit: heres a [link] to a up close and personal on the eclipse of the moon in the far right

I was wondering if it would be okay for us to use a crop of this (just the blue planet and moon) as the cover of an upcoming in of our Frontier Explorer magazine (frontierexplorer.org ). We'd link back to this page and your main deviant art page as well as including a short bio if you want.Β Let me know.Β Thanks!

Looking back through your comment thread, I see that you've granted permission for use in the past for things that 1) are free and 2) link back to you.Β Since we're a free magazine and the artist credit for the cover figures prominently on the second page of the magazine and links back to both this page and your main Deviant Art page, I hope you won't mind.Β The issue will be coming out in about a week and I'll provide a link back here once it's out.

That is so amazing.Β I wish I had this talent.Β Β
Do you mind if I use this for a backround?Β I'd give you credit.Β It's okay if you'd rather me not though.Β ^^

haha thanx. its quite old now. lol
in background do you mean in a image you want to upload?
if its on here, then all i ask is credit to it, a link for to the original, and a link to me so i can see what it is that ya did.

Still good though.
Yeah, okay. Thanks. Just not entirely sure I'm still going to use it, but if I do I'll make sure to do that.

Awesome ^^ Hey, the second one is a full forest planet right? Can you tell me what kind of texture is good for it? I'm in trouble finding one and i need do an illustration of a moon that is like this ^^"

lol
that was such a long time ago.
if I remember correctly, I was actually using a technique that involved the cloud filter in photoshop(the blue planet was the same way)
If its still around, try looking for it here on the site.
I'm sure there's prob' many dif' versions of it now a days, mainly because that tutorial is older than this image(so either in or before 2004).
If I could remember the name of it, I'd tell you. Try something along the line of earth planets in photoshop.
lol
after that you would have to mess with the idea to get something
like I did to come up.
I do give you luck tho' and thanx.

I was trying to do one with gimp (and the tuto teached really well) since you know, I hate photoshop as much it hates me XD
But i did a really good forest planet fusing the Brazilian xingu's park and the tibet's mountains satellite maps 8D
I've done some clouds effects, but i don't want to do THAAAAT much (and they don't look so real as yours).
really thx anyway^^

Totally awesome! .. feels like home!
I was just browsing on google to find the right picture of the blue planet for a page IΒ΄m starting on facebook... Do you mind if I use it on there.. IΒ΄m trying to reach loads of people with the page - getting together and finding ways and ideas to make this world a better place .. if you mind > I understand, just let me know... and if you rather check out the page first... hereΒ΄s the link (itΒ΄s brand new):
[link]
I would be grateful...
Great work!

haha, thanx.
Well it comes only two conditions to go with the use of the image.
All I'd like is, that it's not a place that does any charging(aka free group of sorts, thus makes my image free as well or there would have to be a charge of sorts)and credit to the image(another words a link to my homepage here on deviantart) is all.
With that, I'd be more than happy for you to use it.

the best i could say by the time this was posted is maybe look up some of the old tutorials on the site back then. lol

thank you.
Well for something as old as it is.
But I'd have to defend that I couldnt call it earth, sense its not... I never went into detail for a name for the planet I made there at the time.
lol

It's Brilliant! Lol, very nice work there man. I've been having alot of trouble lately with planets and other space art. I just can't seem to get the structure and instructions down right. Any suggestions? I've tried using many tutorials but it just won't work for me yet.

wow I absolutely love it, you know I never imagined a moon with a atmosphere that's just mind blowing to me.
fav for amazement, and another fav for the awesome detail in on the planet.... makes me wonder how the aliens look like. !!! maybe they are the forerunners in the Game Halo
that would be funny, then again you made it so...

I don't know why your complaining about the stars, they seem quite good to me, however, you said in the decrip that there were city lights, I can't see any.

I dont know how long this link will be valid and there are other planets on your gallery you have taken aswell.

image is pretty blurry! and now sure why moon has an atmosphere lol
π: 0 β©: 1
vissroid In reply to tibro [2004-05-25 08:15:30 +0000 UTC]
The onlything blurry should be the stars and thats becuase I was doin a "point of view"(I cant remember what the word is right now; its where your lookin at one thing and only want to pay attention to it so its the onlything in focuss...lol)
Some moons can have atmosphere...but this was a lil deal I was workin on at the time for a glow(which I perfected down the road and doesnt look like a same ol' atmosphere look)
ThanX! for the comment though...I did this some time ago( I think it was in PS6...or 7)
