Description Well...This is the best I've done yet...

Sadly one thing I need to say...the asteroids are not mine...I've gone to a new low(lol...for now) they are shirosynth 's(But hey!!! There really cool and very easy to change!!!)...I havnt mastered 3D s Max yet to make my own(thats the only program I have that could make them in...but I havnt found a good enough tut to make them yet with...

oh yeah one more thing...let me know if ya likes(specialy about the stars...It's a brush I've been workin on)

Edit: I fixed the borders...ThanX! for the reminder shirosynth!

Well, it's really good, but there's a few things that bothers me:

-First off, the stara re really beautiful, but kinda repetitive...
-A ring is more "blrured" and has the same size everywheer around the planet
-Moons cannot have rings, especially not in the same orentation than the leading planet... (and only gaz giants can really have the density to keep a ring)
-Dunno if it's yours, but the little batch of rocks flying around a round asteroid/moon in the middle-top of the pic is superb!
-The texture on the barren world is pretty nifty too ^^
-And I've been looking at your other pictures, you seem to really like awfully lots of stars in the background... maybe you should make them in somekind of colorful clouds? and make little les stars in overall? If you want to see good space background you should go look at some games like homeworld, Earth aNd Beyond and Haegemonia (especially Haegemonia) for some really sweet looking ones.

Still, I really like your works... just, with some references photos it could be even better and more "Realistic"

ThanX! but moons can have stars...I asked my proffesor and he said yeah...if the planet is large enough they can...MWahahahaaa

And thanX! for the pointers and all...I keep tryin to do something with the star I keep puttin in too many...I workin on a couple right now that might come out better

Sebbythefreak In reply to vissroid [2004-04-12 22:19:30 +0000 UTC]

stars??? wtf... you mean rings? The moon would need to be a gazious...

why? Because even the largest rock plaent cannot even reach the smallest gazeous planet... therefore, a solid planet mass is VERY limited... and when it goes to gaz giants... Jupiter is a "medium-large" sized one so I guess an immense gaz giant would be like... so dense it could have gaz moons orbiting

About the only way a moon could have a ring if you ask me.

The brighter stars are nice, but you should've used several different ones. Right now they're too similar.
Also, this one does have great potential, but I recommend you to work in a larger canvas and then afterwards decrease the size. If you'd do that, you'd get the details right.

ThanX! I'll try a larger canvas next time

This is a very nice piece! My only problem is that the borders gold doesn't really fit the yellow theme of the work. Aside from that, though, it's great!

Nice pict! Your color choice is very pleasing to look at and if this is just the beginning, wait until you get good at using, what was it? 3D Studio max? You're going to be making some stunning stuff. My only gripe here is that the planet surface looks slightly pixilated. Is that because the render is big or because the texture was too small?

vissroid In reply to Dusky-Hawk [2004-04-02 11:05:08 +0000 UTC]

small texture...lol

Ahhh. I will look later on for planet-ish textures since tim-bot sent me a link to a planet tut for PS7. If you're interested and I find something worthy, just drop me a line if you want the link(s) where I find stuff.

shirosynth [2004-04-02 07:48:30 +0000 UTC]

Be careful about putting too much stars, space isnt always crammed with non stop stars. Its nice to break it up here and there.
also instead of just black borders you might want to put a white line on the inside to add a more interesting border.

dont worry about having to use resources, it took me forever to learn how to make those as it is, and theyre just friggin rocks.
