Hahahenjoy. I am not funny, and I realize that, but my pathetic attempts to do so lie within the tutorial.Another tutorial done in Flash. Mwah. People seem to like those.

Sometimes if you go hardΒ on uniqueness, the whole character can breach the whole sense of "furry"-ness, breach the standards of what's furry and what's not,Β and become something related to sci-fi alien species, Spore,Β yuruchara mascots, or anything like that. While imagination is a powerful tool, what people mostly think that is a "furry" character is an anthro-animal character that is of species usually found on Earth - commonly mammalians, reptilians, birds... not unicellulars, annelids, larvae,Β plants/mushroomsΒ or viruses >.<
Also I've beenΒ collecting the pictures of similarly looking fursuits and this might trigger a hot war, making someone accusing of using basic shapes, inspirations etc. No matter how overused the species, elements,Β colors, patterns and markings are, people are HAPPY with them they are, and better not to interfere. This applies alsoΒ to backstories, traits and so on.

Being unique is hard. One time I was deciding on a fursona design and my design was really unique to me and most of my friends and then I saw a fursona on the internet that looked JUST LIKE IT xD

Nice. And just an addendum to my previous post, does it really matter what other people think of as a "good" fursona? If something appeals to you, go for it, man.

For names I just use words most of the time. I have Fluorescence, Tinker Toy, Panic, and Nugget. The only one without a normal word name is Scottie and two I haven't named. Nugget is also what my step mom calls me.

I'm trying to be original with the creation of my fursona, none of it was really copied from anywhere it was all me and what I felt looked best on her. I gave it a black and magenta color scheme because that represents me best, and I added wings because flying kind of represents freedom and imagination to me :33 they're white instead of black to add contrast. Her nose and paws are brown, and she has a flop of magenta hair that goes over one of her magenta eyes. It's really a simple design in all honesty (well, maybe not the wings) , but I like it that way ^__^
I've seen some overly ornate fursonas and oh my goodness do they have so many colors and designs it's too much @_@. Haha, but I'm not going to judge people for that if they feel it's fitting lol

I make some with crazy marking and lots of colors because I keep thinking of ideas after I already started. My new oc was going to be a husky with only three colors of fur...she became a Dragon Husky with 6 colors. I have another new on that is purple, black, and white. She has crazy markings and a tail that loks like I electrocuted her, she is a housecat.

The part about the apendages...i couldn't help but be reminded of these inbred cows I saw on tv that had LEGS and ARMS and HOOVES....growing from their stomache and backs...Btw,this tutorial is really helpful and really well done

Hey, no problem! And it's the same with me. Wolves are cool, yes, but I've just seen soooo many! And that's just really, really awesome. It makes my fursona look pathetic by comparison.
