I took a photo of my patterns for Midna's headpiece.For the bottom piece you will have to cut out a straight piece first, as pictured. Then add 1 cm darts in each of the marked spots, and trace the top and sides of the piece down to the dotted line. That will make the curvature for the headpiece. You can cut it out of posterboard to make it a flat piece that will create a smooth appearance.
I made the entire headpiece out of two layers of thick foam which was covered by 2 mm sheet of craft foam. For the craft foam surface you will have to trace on your headpiece and add the seam in the front so it's not visible! Cut the surface piece bigger to start with and then trim it to fit the base.
