Here's how I built the patterns for the cape of my Midna costume. I drew it very fast (sorry about that...) but I hope it's clear enough...Related content

For the hood you gotta draw a pattern of a typical two-piece hood and alter the tip into a point. If you make the back part straight, you can erase the back seam by connecting the pieces on the fold of the fabric.

On the sleeves, what is the hole looking part near the shoulders? And the x's? I don't know much about sewing patterns I apologize!

No worries. The hole near the shoulders is the sleeve opening and it will be cut into the bigger parts underneath the shorter parts. The x's show a measurement that is identical. For example, if the front of your cape (from shoulder to the bottom) is 1 meter long, the back will be one meter long, plus the funnily shaped bottom part. I hope this cleared things up, I'm bad at explaining.

Awesome and quite a huge help. I'd give you an empty bottle or heart piece if I had one.

This is amazing. o.o
I was trying to find a way to make my own cloak~ I'm going to use this. <3
Now, maybe cape number two will actually be symmetrical. And look nice. x3;

It's quite a life saver. Now that I look at that, I don't have to make a new cloak. I just have to add onto the sides to fix the symmetry. x)

Are those in inches or cm? XD (dumb question, I know. But for me I just have to be sure.)

There's a bigger piece under the smaller top piece. You make a hole in the under piece, and sew all the edges but the part where your arm comes out. I hope that makes sense... XD

I forgot to say one thing: You must make the sleeve parts a little wider than the pieces under them... The sleeves would be too tight if you didn't do that. ;D
(I hope you understand what I'm trying to say... XD)

Ooh, awesome! Thank you for posting this! I've been wondering for a while how Midna's cape actually works. The pictures make it look so confusing lol.
