Actually, as I'd say it, it's "Gern geschehn!", or "Keine Ursache!" (I'm German).

It's nice art, but Mizukage-sama couldn't possibly fight with that skirt hahahaha
It's cute but not super practical.
Who cares? She's very pretty

Thanks! <3
True. That wouldn't be possible at all with that cut.
But maybe it's just something for special occasions...

ahhhh
I do not believe you made a figure to match the uniform of Madara?
OMG
what a great idea!
ahmm I loved that dress, I just cant think in one better, even the style is very reminiscent of the Mei's dress, but as a uniform ^^
Hmm, interesting, what kind of uniform is that? Does it really exist or you created it? ^^
Why, this combined with her mermaid skirt, and this hair so long!
Btw, the two drawings comminated enough, even the way they handle their kunai/katana

VivianeLeFay In reply to FireEagleSpirit [2010-04-22 20:47:41 +0000 UTC]
Thank you so much!
I'm so happy that you like the pic! >w<
Actually this is no real existing uniform, but as uniforms have certain characteristic features one has to stick to it cannot be called purely original either.
I just blended these elements with elements of Kishimoto's original design and her original colour scheme with my own ideas, such as giving the skirt this "Mermaid" shape.
I just found it pretty fitting to her, since her village is associated with the water element.
And true, their posing quite matches, but that was not as much intended as you micht think (although it's still really great that it does =3). I have to confess the real reason is that I hardly worked with references this time and therefore drew her in a pose I'm quite used with.
Whatever, I like the connection anyways. ^^

I do not care about that originality, in fact everyone use ideas that came from other things, to do their drawings... its just inspiration.
And I found very interesting how the uniform is at the same time military, and so feminine, you did it very well!It is interesting!
Yes, and the skirt ... when my brother saw her for the first time (in the manga),he said that she was beautiful as Iara (a mermaid from brazilian folklore, ) I remembered it right when read your description.
*-*

True. Even in Antiquity artists and writers usually used already given ideas and styles. (the technical term for it is imitatio-aemulatio-variatio)
In a way the authors imitated the old classics and sort of competed with them (mostly Homer).
But it was perfectly ok back then and a way of showing respect to the one who possibly invented it. ^^
So, you see, this kind of approach was already a habit in ancient times.
You know me. I prefer it when women wear clothes that fit and flatter their gender.
Nice coincidence. XD
Oh, please tell me more about that mermaid. I just love learning more about foreign (but also my own) countries' folklore tales. >w<

Yes, I know! I find this a very elegant way to dress *-*
and Mei combines a lot.
Ahm, I think we should reflect on the best works as an inspiration, is not it?
Well, Iara is not so important, but well, if you are interested:
it has a sad story! I do not know very well is a thing of the natives, but here people like to keep these legends, you know .. to preserve the culture of the native people ... well, she is just a beautiful native, who lives in a water "source" on the forest, and she sings in the moonlight ... the voice is so beautiful that if a man just listen to it, he'll be in love with her ... but, if the man approaching, he could not resist her beauty, and will be drawn into the depths of the waters ...
Well, she is a mermaid, as well as the maritime legend. This girl, looks like she was abandoned by her boyfriend .. and threw into a river to kill herself, but the moon or something else took pity to see such beauty die, and saved her turning she into this (a mermaid)
lol.. this is so long
well, people may speak eventually of these legends, but really... the world is no longer the same, you know .. in fact there are almost no native people here, I do not know any of them
=/ these things are lost .. sad!
Sometimes I think people should have a very different impression of what is Brazil, I guess I do not know for sure how is Germany for example! this is so weird, but very nice talking to you I have learned a lot
I think that is so cool, looks like I know you too well >.<

VivianeLeFay In reply to FireEagleSpirit [2010-04-27 11:25:11 +0000 UTC]
Sure. Uniforms can look very elegant. ^w^
Reflecting on masterpieces can help you improving your own art, I think. At least itβs something I do in the hopes of getting better. ^^
OMG! O_O
This Brazilian legend of Iara is almost exactly the same like a very well-known legend of a German mermaid called Loreley.
Proof: [link]
Seems like our countries seem to have some parallels in terms of folklore tales. =3
True, the world is not the one it used to be. Itβs such a pity that so many tales and legends are lost to the world now. The conquerors and the men of church have destroyed so much. Itβs such a shame! T^T
Iβve watched a very interesting documentary on Maya culture, language and their scripture recently, that showed this fact quite intensely. Good that scientists somehow gave them back some parts of that lost knowledge through their constant research.
In other parts of the world Brazil maybe is known mostly for the rain forest, the Amazonas river, the Carnival of Rio, the large Jesus statue and its excellent soccer teamβ¦.
β¦and Germany maybe for beer, sausages, βkrautβ, Bavarian traditional costumes, the Alps, their also pretty good soccer team and , of course, the terror-reign of Adolf Hitler β unfortunately! T^T
Whatever, I hope we can βenlightenβ each other with new knowledge and impressions about the otherβs homecountry, so that we neednβt rely on these stupid clichΓ©s anymore.
Know me too well?
Hmm, I suppose thatβs not quite correct, since we only have talked about certain interests and world views (ok, they say a lot about oneβs personality as well), but not much about the other things, the ones of a more private nature. So that βknowingβ isnβt much actually.
But anyways, weβre in an open forum, where subjects like these have no business to be talked about. Actually itβs also stupid to do this. I just donβt understand how some deviants just write details of their most intimate life in their journals, knowing that everybody in the whole world can read it. And the internet is a dangerous place, you knowβ¦ there are people who have lost their job, partner etc. after doing that, or posting some photos, showing them in disgraceful positions and such.
One really has to be careful about what, and how much, to reveal about oneself hereβ¦

I also think it's wrong, people who write things in your day to day and put pictures in the newspapers
I know it, look that I never put such pictures, photos or anything, and never said the city where I live correctly... I never even talked my full name... even in the games ... I use names like Phoenix .. or things like it
I think I was kinda depressed when I wrote this comment...
Well, and I do not even like football or carnival
lol
Do not mind but I think you're a nice person, even without knowing you, this is what I meant
>.<
and thanks for the advice, sometimes I do things wrong.. but it was good to talk
* Ah yes, Ive heard of Loreley tale, really seems a lot, and both had a sad story! ... (thnx for the link)
ah this training of Naruto .. I want to see more Mei and Madara of course

Oh please don't be depressed! It makes me so sad to hear this! T^T
Maybe I really was a bit too harsh in my tone, but it wasn't meant that bad.
I just meant to say that we really have to be careful here in the net as we never know who might read our words....
Anyways it's not that bad to be also quite cautious in real life. But maybe I might be slightly overreacting. I had quite some experiences in the past that made it a bit hard for me to really trust others .... back-stabbing "friends", you know.
So please don't take it personally! I really like you very much! ^^

I haven't seen any because it would be shown in that small shirt she always has on. AND IT SHOWS HER FLIPPIN CRACK! XD
π: 0 β©: 1
VivianeLeFay In reply to Shaylex [2010-04-25 11:11:59 +0000 UTC]
Maybe the shirt itself serves as some sort of substitute for a bra. I mean it's pretty tight and therefore it sould hold together her "upper frontal masses" quite efficiently. =3
Uhm, what is "flippin crack"? I did not quite understand this one. *is no native speaker in English and therefore lacks some vocabulary*
Did you mean her neckline, maybe!?
π: 0 β©: 1
Shaylex In reply to VivianeLeFay [2010-04-25 14:14:35 +0000 UTC]
"Flippin" is a substitute for "fuckin" lol
and crack as in the split between her "upper frontal masses." Crack also used for the butt, the "lower back masses". lol

And thanks for explaining. ^^
