i was wondering, do you have any advice about a scene in the reflection on a horse's eye? i am not sure about how curved the reflection should be, where it gets blurred and past blurred...

I would look at photos of actual ponies eyes for that, but it seems to depend greatly on the focus of the scene itself.
Try a google image search of "horse eye" and you'll get several nice examples of very focused and unfocused reflections.

thanks, this great. i always thought eyes would be so hard to draw in (i make horse manips) so i have always left the horse's original eyes, but this tutorial has changed that.

What you could add there, is that horses, at least those with brown, blue or very light silvery blue eyes (I do not know what would be a short for that english), have very dark grayish blue pupils, not brown or black. The green-eyed champagne coloured horses might have different coloured pupils, I do not know, but usually it at least is dark blue. Good to be mentioned.
One other thing; sometimes the pupil colour comes out of the pupil on the iris area in a sort of bubbles. And welsh ponies, arabians and appalosas have their eye whites more seen than other horses. And horse eyes can be half light gray-blue coloured, usually with big white markings...
Sorry. Too much text. I guess you already know all this, but share the knowledge with less knowing, will you?

Hey there! We're a brand new horse club looking to assemble the best equine tutorials on Deviantart into one place. Since we are so new, our gallery is essentially empty, and we were wondering if you would be interested in adding this tutorial to our gallery? Full credit and a link to the original will be provided. We are not looking to personally benefit from your hard work, we are looking to merely bring together all the equine resources in one place to benefit both beginner and expert artists not only with the best tutorials, but with the best community support when it comes to improving upon equine artwork.
Whether you decide to accept our decline to add this tutorial to our gallery, we hope at least that you will visit our page and consider becoming a member yourself, and if you decline, allow us to add this remarkable instructive tool to our favorites. We sincerely appreciate your time and effort in trying to help other horse artists, and we hope to see you around the community!
Sincerely,
~Equine-Art-Reference

I always like to compare a horse's pupil to a cheese puff. Because you so know it looks like one. lol
