very very helpful. Whenever I draw my eyes, the pupil tends ti stick out a little more and then it makes the horse look evil because its too rectangular X) haha

and the thing I've found with reflections in real eyes which could help you make yours even better is that where ever the light is reflected off the eye the surrounding colour in the eye is dark and the side of the eye opposite the reflected light the colour is highlighted.

Look at photos of actual appaloosas and add the little bit of white that looks appropriate for the horse's mood and fits :3

horse pupils are like goats eyes...they are not a perfect rectangle...more like a weird looking bone. Its kind of hard to explain, but this tut is still pretty good.

Yeah, this is true...though I've found that defining them tends to give the horse a very creepy look in a drawing

oh i know it really does lol. they tend to look very VERY creepy and kind of like caracell horses. *shiver* I would add that fact tho in the tut just so people don't go passing around the wrong idea.
