Now, I'm just assuming they were both part of the Hot Rodders... because in the 93 comic it's said that Falco was part of it before joining Starfox and in Starfox64 it is implied that Katt knew Falco from before then.

Actually while no one consider the comics canon or w/e, the subject even comes in assault. Chapter 5 Falco is talking about Pigma and the asteroid belt to which Fox replies "So, is this like an amusement park to a former gang member?" Falco: Rubs he beak smugly: "You know it!". So obviously they haven't forgotten the comics. Another point in the case, is Star Fox adventures in the main room before you start to play, inbetween Fox and Peppy, when you're switching over to Peppy anyhow, there's a poster of Fara Phoenix. Besides blond hair that reaches down to her hips (I guess a bald fox is unbecoming), she looks exactly like the comics. Same suit, big ears, and boots.

This is quite a lovely picture with my favorite (canon) Starfox couple in it, and as such it's going straight to my favorites.
You really managed to show the nostalgic atmosphere of this scene succesfully; their faces look so sad...
I just hope that Nintendo decides to let these two end up together in a future game...

Starfox has many comics, actually. They aren't considered canon, though.

Awesome pic of Falco and Katt from their Hot Rodders biker gang days, awesome job on this. Katt is another fave Star Fox character of mine. I agree with Ianpiersonjdavis that Falco was the leader of the gang of Hot Rodders.

x) I was trying to add a little bit of randomness to my rather "methodical" style that had me kind of... I don't know. It was almost like a routine. Sketch, lineart, base colors, shadows 1, shadows 2, shadows 3... and so on.
*Note to self: I ought to never do that again for a while, as this picture had me on the brink of a neurotic attack!

I swear, I've heard it as 'Hot Rodders' too. o.o Either way, nice work. The expressions are good, and maybe it's just me, but Katt's head looks a bit large to me, or I'm just looking at it funny.
The colouring and shading are great though, keep up the awesome work!

x) Come too look at it after done, I do think Katt's head maybe looks too rounded and her neck too wide. Or maybe because the muzzle doesn't stick out much.
Of all the things, for some reason, drawing anthropomorphic characters looking straight ahead is the hardest for me.

Yeah, I remember reading that now, thanks. It's been forever and a half since I looked at the main page, as last I heard, there was a virus on the front page, and I'm not 100% sure if it's gone yet. Wow, they both look so pensive. But I guess they are after that crash huh? All it takes is one thing to show you that you can lose everything. But it's great seeing them together. You can tell just by looking that theres a chemistry between those two. Anyhow, if you interested, I did a small ficlet about Falcos past and it includes his old gang. If you wanna have a read then it's the first entry in my gallery. And it has a surprise along the way. Considering I wrote it at just past midnight there might be a few paragraphs that sound dogy. Just need to know if it needs rewriting.

Well, I tried to keep Falco and Katt in charactor as much as I can but since it is a private moment between the two and Katt is falcos weakness i tried to come up with how they might act. I hope you like it. In fact I guess I outa thank you for the insperation. It was mainly your art style that brings out the best in both of them. I hope you enjoy it and who knows, I might get a fave. The Hot Rodders were mentioned in a Collector's Card released by Nintendo Power, which can be found here in the back of the first Falco card.
