Fullview's better!!!Just a bit of doodling... nothing serious, I just felt like making some giant bugs based on bees, ants and wasps (since they all belong to the same suborder [link] ) thought it'll be cool if they all joined forces to become a giant dominant force! ahahah!!!!
A bit like the Zerg Swarm: [link] , but less "alien".
I'll probably redo this thing and add some buildings too!!
>EDIT:<
Serious business is about to Commence!
Race Description: Curently named the Kru-Sectar (unless Writer-on-the-Wall decides to change it), these creatures can lay dormant underground for vast periods of time, using their flying units as scouts for the outside world. The Kru-Sectar rarely come to the surface, but when they do, they come out with a BANG!! The earth is shaking, giant cathedral-mounds and hard-as-rock spires emerge from the ground faster than you can say "Oh My Fucking God!" and these merciless insects are known to wipe out and devour entire species of the face of the planet! they lay siege to cities with their brutal arsenal and reduce them to crumbling ruins. These beasts will stop at nothing to completely eradicate all that dares come in their path and once they're done, they all fall back to their subterranean lairs, their buildings going underground once more, all completely gone, leaving travelers to question what force could destroy entire cities.
Units (from Left to Right):
Worker: The labourers of the Colony, they dredge through the earth looking for resources and they are relatively weak and very susceptible to damage, but they usually come in numbers that will make any enemy tremble and think twice before attacking them! Special: Pheromones, glands on their abdomen can release an odour that attracts other workers and thus, creates an invisible trail that the workers automatically take to harvest resources.
Myrmidon: Hardened foot-soldiers of the Colony, these skilled warriors will obey your every command to the letter, they will show no fear and no mercy to the orders they receive, and they will gladly give their lives for the good of the Colony! Special: Scavenge, they can easily tear their foes apart by using their large mandibles and bring back their juicy carcasses to the base.
Arrow-tooth Spitter (??): Specialized scouts with a heightened sense of smell, hearing, and taste from their long antennae, these are the ranged infantry of the Colony, they can spit Formic Acid that paralyzes and slowly kills it's enemies, this attack is very effective against Aerial Units, it can shoot out many units out of the sky and leave it to the Myrmidons to tear them apart. Special: Detect Spies, their long antennae can detect the presence of any enemy unit in their Line of Sight, like a Radar Tower, but it can also smell Spy Workers, from afar, from other rival colonies, whereas the allied workers can only detect them upon touch.
Antlion: This is one of the most ruthless killing machines of the Colony, heavily shielded by it's four large legs, this unit stalks through the battlefield as if it were it's playground, it's mandibles can behead most enemy soldiers foolish enough to stand in it's way! Although nearly invincible to melΓ©e units, this creature can easily be brought down by a volley of artillery blast. Special: Sand Pit Trap, perfect for defense! the Antlion burrows into the ground and creates a vortex of spinning earth when it feels the movement of enemy feet, it traps it's enemies in the hole, to feast on their fragile bodies!
on the second row:
Replete: The living food-storage creatures of the Colony, these repletes serve only to increase the population capacity of the colony, they are slow moving and have their abdomens gorged with digested jelly fed to them by the workers, they have since then swollen up and serve as mobile nourishment for the both army and the workers, the repletes always secrete distinct-smelling pheromones as they require constant upkeep from the workers, they serve as a secondary source of nourishment, second only to the Hive which has the Life Jelly stored in it's Jelly-Clusters. Special: Explosion, when or if the replete is surrounded by enemies, it's primal instinct is to release a substance from it's abdominal nerve gland that turns it's stored Jelly into a volatile explosive that is enough to cause damage to attacking enemies, sacrificing the replete, of course.
Vespidon: Swift flying, extremely fast, and very versatile, this is primary air unit of the Colony, these are natural-born slayers and can dispatch its enemy very quickly and silently, but will surely fail when it's surrounded by more enemies than they can handle... the vespidon work great in groups and are best if you use "hit and run" tactics with them as their sting packs a punch but takes a while to regenerate. Even in great numbers, do not use these units against an oncoming enemy ground army, unless you have several ground forces to support the high-flying vespidons... in that situation, you'd be better off attacking the enemy base with them, slaughtering their workers and pwning their d00dz, while your ground units take care of their army Special: Sting, a sharp sting that releases paralyzing venom that attacks the foe's nervous system, if this does not kill them, it's either the vespidon's sharp claw that will!
Bomber (??): These great goliaths of the sky are the biggest flying units of the Colony, they soar through the sky and can release deadly swarms of Suicide Bugs that are as much of a threat to enemy units as they are to their buildings, the bombers are able to create these servitor creatures from special egg-sacks inside their abdomen, the suicide bugs reach maturity in comb-like cavities inside the bomber's thorax and then they are ready to attack! Relatively slow, you must ensure that you have enough resources to keep the bomber's suicide bug attack functional, as it requires the Life Jelly to create such beings, and without them, the bomber can only slowly try and escape. Special: apart from the suicide bugs Pestilent Stench, the bomber releases a cloud of noxious gas that blinds and stuns nearby enemies, this ability does not damage them, but only creates enough of a diversion to allow the bomber to escape when it runs out of bugs.
Suicide Bug (??): (as seen above) these symbiotic lifeforms spend their pupal lives on the bomber's back and generally live very short lives outside the carapace of the large beast, after teasing their enemies for a while, the suicide bugs sting them and automatically detonate releasing an explosion similar to the one created by the replete, but this explosion is usually heard many more times as the suicide bug has alot of siblings sacrificing themselves for the good of the Colony, these creatures can overwhelm enemy troops and destroy entire cities in a blink of an eye! Special: Suicide, the bug explodes causing Area Effect damage, usually pierces enemy armour, as the suicide bug stings them!
Note: I just don't want them too look like ants >.< but like Ants/Bees/Wasps all mashed together, huge and BAD-ASS!!
More Units to Come:
Royal Guard a semi-ground, semi-flying unit with a special Charge! attack and, how could I forget, the Hive Queen the center of the entire colony, the Hive Queen lays eggs and can lay queen eggs when you reach a full tech-tree (limit 3 queens)
Technology:
Swarm Formium Carapace a hard shell that can be fused onto units when they enter the Shellery (??) Building. It adds resistance against magical attacks and the Carapace always provides an HP bonus of 15%
I'll change the Kru-Sectar appearance a bit, maybe I'll add some bioluminescent cells on their bodies (do they need really those? I mean, they have Pheromones). Either way, I'll figure out a way to make them look fiercer!
P.S. "For the Swarm"!??!

Oh yeah! you're right they really do look like those ones, I think it's Silithus. I was thinking of the nerubians which look like spiders.

Hope that there not human sized.

You're right, they're not human-sized...
they're horse-sized... and the two last ones are elephant-sized, lol ;D
thanks for the comment! these guys are works in progress, sorry about the long description, I was explaining stuff to writer-on-the-wall.

"For the Hor...I mean Swarm!!!"
Awesome unit type sketches! I'd call them the Kru-Sectar
I have some suggestions for the building types though.
Consider using a honeycomb-esq thing for the "home-base" of the species, it contains a hive queen that produces all the eggs of the colony.
For the earthbound soldiers I would consider using a very large anthill which you could subsequently upgrade to create more powerful units (Such as the acid artillery ant and the tank-like fourth soldier), reinforce (yadda yadda...)
But for the flying units and the mobile queen, I would suggest using upgrades to the original "Home-base" thing, like and upper aviary like attachment and "Queen-spawning" room.
Consider using the smaller bees as peons and such, gathering nectar and converting it into honey, a valuable trade resource as well as one of the main resources of the colony. Also allow them to collect pollen and salvage the dead bodies of their enemies for protein.
For the warrior types, consider a limited amount of ranged attacks which launch poisoned barbed packets of venom and coat their mandibles and frontal claws in a powerful formic acid, allowing them to cut through even the toughest of hides and melt the most resilient of metals.
This picture is all I need to build a game... (Aside from programing skills )
That is all...

Wow! you just came up with that name!?
I wish I knew more people like you!
I took to heart what you said and I changed the description a bit (alot!) and added an unit information section, for all eight units I drew.
The Workers will be ground units, since I got the idea from watching ants in my backyard (especially yesterday, there was a buttload of ants that where "fighting" and swarming next to the driveway) I thought there wouldn't be enough flowers in the world to satisfy these guys' hunger so, I made the Ground Workers bring in meat and plants which they digest to create some sort of "Life Jelly" that they use for sustenance!
The Repletes will be like terrestrial Overlords (from StarCraft) that are filled with this Jelly... and there's also going to be "Royal Life Jelly" in the combs of the Colonial Hive, which the Queen and her servitors uses.
As for the Queen, didn't draw her yet... she'd be bigger than the Bomber. She is the foundation of every colony, the workers build the hive around her but she can emerge at any time, but the Hive bcomes useless without her garrisoned.
When you'll reach a full tech-tree, you'll be able to assign your queen to lay queen eggs which you can then use to build more Colonial Hives. These queens are also efficient in battle, buffing your troops, but they are vulnerable to attacks, so be sure to alway keep one queen in her Hive >.>
Also, the Formium Carapace, it'll be an upgrade, your soldiers will looks like they have helmets on. lol!

Ooh! I get it!...I thought the bomber was the queen, whoops...
Consider giving the queen the appearance of a real ant lion, like so [link] and [link] , normal ant lions actually have a venomous bite, but they lack flight capabilities so add minimal flight capabilities.
Consider making the repletes a type of "mobile supply and artillery" unit, allowing it to shoot long streams of explosive life jelly (or Kru-Nectar if you like it that way...) traced with formic acid. It doesn't work at close range because the Repletes' hard carapaces aren't flexible enough to fire at close range.
Here are some name suggestions:
Arrow-Tooth Spitter = Myrmidon Formic Scout
Bomber = Vespidon Guardian
Suicide Bug = Nymph (Not only can they self destruct, but in times of strife, the nymphs can pupate for a long time and become workers, although they sacrifice their ability to fly and self-destruct.
Consider making all the buildings just extensions of the main hive, gives it that "Zerg-esq" feel.
