This is a very interesting work of art. I haven't seen the like for quite a while. So points for originality!
I really like the flame affect. It brings a lot of life to the picture. ^^ I can see a stunning amount of detail for this type of art as I zoom in a bit. Very good indeed.
I also think you got the character proportions down rather well. It's quite an interesting character indeed! I really like his hair and his head in general.
However, it's hard to tell what's going on in the top-left corner....It almost looks like a waterfall or rays of light. I can't exactly tell. It's rather confusing. Also, next to it is a bunch of spots and I can't tell what those are supposed to represent either.
The demon frog doesn't exactly look like a frog but it's cool nonetheless and I kinda wish there was more of them or it was bigger. I also like the smaller flames around the creature. ^^
The black and while is very cool but it would be great to see a colored version.

This is a very interesting piece, I think mostly because of its complexity and darkness – it forces you to look closely to figure out exactly what is going on and to draw out the smaller details. That said, I think those same factors are a bit fo a weakness for it – it's hard to make out what's happening, and I'm not sure I would have known that was a floating demonic toad unless I read your description. I would have assumed it was a ghost or demon, but the main characters seeming lack of reaction to it would have made me second guess that assumption.

The main character is interesting in their own right – While it seems like we get a lot of detail in their face and their headdress, it's hard to tell exactly what they're doing – did they start the fire? Did they just happen upon it? Again, their expression doesn't give us any real clue as to what is going on.

All in all, I think I can see this as being a fantastic world-building piece inside a larger story – like an in-qorld illustration of some event that took place in a book, but as a stand alone piece it's really hard to put a story to it. I just don't get enough information from it. I like the style and individual pieces – the fire, the main character, the demon frog – but when they're all put together I think they start to overwhelm one another. Removing some of the surrounding black and heavy lines might help that, but I'm thinking that isn't an option for you since it's ink on bristol board.

Overall, though, despite my nudges for improvements, it's an effort to be proud of.
