How big does this print out to, do you recommend enlarging it a certain percentage? I know nothing about myΒ little ponies, but it would be fun to make one! Thanks!

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to KBCreations [2014-01-05 07:59:33 +0000 UTC]
It prints out so you get about a 7 inch tall pony

Question how much fabric does one of these ponies require? I can't seem to find the measurements
π: 0 β©: 1
Voodoo-Tiki In reply to Crazypurplebat [2013-12-28 17:41:39 +0000 UTC]
This one require 1/3 yard for the body, not counting what you might want to use for mane, tail, trimmings, etc. It'll be clearer in the new tutorial.

You can change the size when you print them out, or use the grin method of enlarging.Β

How well do you think this pattern would work for making Toni ponies out of felt? About palm size or smaller?
π: 0 β©: 1
Voodoo-Tiki In reply to horserat [2013-09-15 09:52:12 +0000 UTC]
I wouldn't use felt - minky or robe velour would be much better. Felt is stiff and would be very difficult if not impossible to turn right side out, especially with a small size. You could always try sewing it right side out, if you don't mind the stitches showing.Β

Hmm.. I'll keep that in mind thanks. See I recently found small 1/4 yard prices of felt, and they were all the perfect colors for the mane six. I'm dying to use the felt, but I can't find any patterns that will work. Do you happen to know of any simple patterns that could work? Thanks so much for the quick response.

I don't have a lot of experience sewing felt toys, but I did find two tutorials for you that aren'[t for MLP ponies specifically but might help: a deer from Nuno's blog nuno-runo.blogspot.com/2012/02β¦ and this horse ornamentΒ www.cavalcadeblog.com/2012/12/β¦ that have a ton of very good photos that show how to work with felt. You might be able to adapt some of the simpler MLP patterns using these techniques.

I played around with this pattern a bit while making some test plushies; its a really nice pattern. Β I didn't end up using it in my final pony plushy because when I tried it out, it looked too 'chibi' rather than a normal proportioned MLP pony, but still, very cute pattern.

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to Picklesquidly [2013-08-08 09:53:28 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I designed it to be simple for people who weren't very experienced with sewing - I'm working on a more show accurate version (plus I've gotten better at pattern designing, myself).

Question!
I have used this pattern several times already to make female ponies and I'm going to try to make a Dr Whooves...
Should I use the stallion head here: [link]
I just don't know if it would translate well... I really like this pattern: voodoo-tiki.deviantart.com/art/My-Little-Pony-pattern-1-291118373
