Description I put it up on my tumblr but figured I might as well post it here since several people have asked about it. (A birthday present from me to you)

There aren't any instructions but it's basically a cube so it's pretty easy to figure out.

Some notes:

"2, 1R" means to cut two pieces, one mirror-imaged. Same with 4, 2R.

The arrow shows the direction the pile should be going, if you use fabric with a pile (minky, velvet, faux fur, velour, etc). For a smooth fabric like fleece or felt, you don't need to worry about them.

If you're making a unicorn, you cut the face piece with the horn included, and one extra horn pieces, sew the horn parts together right sades facing, turn the horn and then fold down so it's on the inside of the body as you're sewing it - it will be on the outside when you turn it.

For a pegasus, sew all around the wings then make a small slit on one side of the wing to turn it right side out. Make sure you have a right and left wing, and sew them to the body with a ladder stitch, hiding the turning opening against the body. The lines are a guide to make long stitches to define the feathers.

Stuffing it with plastic "beanie" pellets will give it a nice heft.

Here's the one I made: [link]
I used minky for the body and scraps of long pile faux fur for the mane and tail.

You could also modify the shape of the ears and tail and face details to make this into all sorts of different animals.

I hope you don't mind, but I used this as a contest entry, the user said we can use patterns and things like that as long as we give credit in the description. Hope you like them, I love this pattern!

I used snap-in eyes and I believe I got them at Hancock Fabric, but most craft or hobby stores should carry them.

So, I just wanna make sure I'm right , do you sew the belly on the inside of the body's legs? Then do u sew the butt on the back?

ADifferentSpecies In reply to Voodoo-Tiki [2012-11-14 14:11:08 +0000 UTC]

Alright, I have another question, sorry but I'm having trouble with the head. I have all the pieces pinned together and then I cut out the head but it won't fit correctly. I'm making Toothless so the head does have horns on the side its face... will that be a problem?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to ADifferentSpecies [2012-11-14 19:03:50 +0000 UTC]

If the fabric has to wrap around the horns, yeah, that will make the fit incorrect. You can measure how much the gap is and add that on to the face if that's what's wrong.

Uh, I got a question. I'm making some of these for Christmas gifts. How much fabric do I need? It seems like I'd only need, like, a yard or so...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to Luppi-kun42 [2012-10-30 19:34:30 +0000 UTC]

It really depends on how big a version you're making. The Nurse Redheart one I made only used about a 10 by 20 piece of minky.

Luppi-kun42 In reply to Voodoo-Tiki [2012-11-01 19:33:01 +0000 UTC]

10 by 20 inch? O.o That doesn't seem possible. Weird.

yesh!
i was looking for this pattern
quick question though, i am not 100% sure what stitch you would reccomend o3o i use blanket stitch usually but idk if that's right or not :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to Ieviathans [2012-10-30 19:32:57 +0000 UTC]

I use a back stitch, it's much stronger. And a ladder stitch to close the turning opening.

silverfacade In reply to ??? [2012-10-23 20:49:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for sharing your pattern for this. It's so adorable! And I actually had a (probably stupid) question. I have almost zero experience when sewing so I am a little unsure about the turning opening. I know that's for when you're almost done, you turn the thing right side out (right? xD), but it's in the middle of the belly. So when I'm cutting out my pattern and stuff, do I cut a slit there? xD I feel so lost when it comes to sewing. But I have to start somewhere right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Voodoo-Tiki In reply to silverfacade [2012-10-24 06:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Right, you cut a slit on the dotted line. You could also leave a inconspicuous seam open (for example, on the butt between the back legs) and use that instead, but I've found the little tuck in the belly makes the legs turn inward so it stands better.

Don't worry about asking questions, that's how you learn! I'm kind of terrible at explaining things but I try to help
