Description
The Project 945 battleship (IRO reporting codename IS-YK-16 "Boreal", also known from its industrial designation "Ikkaku") evolved out of an AW2-era design, the A-class battleships of E Pluribus Axioma. Production of the A-class was ceased and support was cut off when the original manufacturer, Yamanashi Keiretsu, declared bankruptcy but its design team and flight data became property of Yamanakako Keiretsu following negotiations. Due to the A-class’ respectable service record, Yamanakako and the rest of the Cartel chose to begin production of a smaller, more efficient successor for their own use.Much like its predecessor, the Project 945 is an enormous vessel made of two primary components: a large engine module and a “combat pod” connected by a flexible lattice structure. Unlike the A-class this battleship is fully unmanned and it lacks its predecessor’s array of encapsulated supertorpedo launchers. It is in fact surprisingly lightly-armed for its massive size, having discarded even more systems for the sake of maximum acceleration.
Rather than being used as a heavy anti-ship system as the A-class, the Project 945’s combat role is to escort and ensure the survivability of large swarms of long-range anti-capital torpedoes through the use of intense electronic warfare.

60 of such ships are currently in service under the Yamanakako Military Corporation's 4 private fleet subsidiaries. Here, Number 41 joins Number 29 to conduct maneuvers in the Storm of Shadows as part of a long flight to and from the High Imperium, conducting reconaissance sweeps of the Union of Worlds' Space Core on their way.
