I can't even begin to describe what a headache this was. You are looking at the fourth attempt, not counting six character studies and a near mental breakdown. I swear, the man has the oddest combination of facial features in the free world, and yet put together, the effect is just perfect.Anyway. This is Rob Van Dam, or RVD, formerly of ECW and now happily settled in WWE. I had to do it because as soon as 'Taker wasn't around to distract me, RVD moved into my brain and refuses to leave.
It was done with about 12 reference pictures...I also went through a few tapes and freeze-framed when he was wearing this particular singlet, because I couldn't find a bloody picture of the back of the thing, so the lower left-side was a total mystery. I think this is just about accurate.
(not that anyone, you know, will really notice or care. I forsee that this'll get maybe three views, and no one will comment *L* But at least my mum liked it)

I remember it being tricky. I think I switched singlets from the one he had on in my reference shot(s)...I seem to recall the original being pink or orange or something ungodly neon along those lines.

My only wrestling friends are my cousin, who sadly rarely keeps up with it enough, my bf, who is FINALLY getting into it but knows NOTHING of the past, and an online friend, who I rarely get to chat to... Why are we wrestling fans so restricted with our chatter?!?!
I was always a big Sabu fangirl, so when the two fought, I never could choose who to root for, though I usually went with the "Human Highlight Reel"

Trust me, you're not the only one. The only time I was ever conflicted cheering for 'Taker was when he was picking on poor Kane...I used to get so mad at the pair of them *L* "You boys cut that out! Stop it! 'Taker, put your brother down this INSTANT! Kane, put out that match! PLAY NICE!"
And I prefered him masked as well, though I think I miss the hair more than the mask *L* Of course I miss the personality more than either....I dunno, Kane just breaks my heart now. And it's worse than it was with 'Taker, because it's beyond repair. Kane can't go back to the way he was, now. It's not like with 'Taker where they can throw him a hat and urn and everything's okay again. 'Taker is our Pale Destroyer again, but....it's come at the expense of everything I used to treasure in his brother.

I don't know. I've been muting him. I don't want to know what's going on with the Lita thing. It's such a mess, and whatever they're saying he's done now, I don't want to hear about it. It's almost worse than when 'Taker said he set the fire intentionally. Well...okay, no it's not. *L* But it's getting there. For about three seconds I thought he was crying tonight and I thought, "Oh my god, thank you, he's coming around" and then I realized he's got the title match coming up and they're not gonna be turning him round again right before that....this is going to probably get a lot worse before it gets better.
I think the cardinal rule of wrestling is "It can always get worse."

I knew the Eugene part was going to go downhill for him, which made me angrier, cause Coach gets on my nerves, *lol* and I'm just on the verge of a wrestling aneurism... I'm waiting til the next interpromotional ppv til I make my total judgement on "lost cause" or "still hope"... $10 says I'll say still hope despite it being a lost cause... *lol*

*giggles* I haven't started shouting like that in a while...tonight as soon as Kane came out there with Eugene and Coach, I was pointing at him and shouting "Don't you dare! Don't you dare, little brother, that'd be the last straw!"
Of course it wasn't the last straw, but I'm still upset with him. Grr.

Patience is a virtue, but its not one I have, *lol* I know how you feel, every time you think it'll be the last straw, it's as if in your mind he gives you the puppy-zar eyes and you just melt and go "Alright... THIS time, you BETTER not screw up again!" And he does.. and you let him go again.

*laughing* I mean...I would think, well okay, he's not got the urn anymore, but at least he's still a noble sort of fellow. And then he started admitting to murders and trying to kill his brother (again), and sacrificing people....so I thought, okay, so, he's lost the whole "concience of the wwf" thing, but at least he's still on the dark side. And then he disappeared for seven months and came back in a blue shirt on a motorcycle....so I thought, okay, well, at least he's still got his hair long. And then he cut his hair. By that point, frankly, I was afraid to think "Well at least he's still called The Undertaker" for fear of what might happen!

I always wondered why they never changed his name... I mean, aside from the whole "Dead Man Walking" thing... After that whole... fiasco... that's certainly one dog whose yard I'd have gone and laid a big crap in, sorry for my vulgarity. I didn't hate him, but I hated his image, his "character" is all I can call it. The Undertaker wasn't that biker guy... He was "The Phenom", and when he walked the ropes like a tightrope, that wasn't considered old school, it was considered part of his repetoire (why can't I spell that word, *lol*)... I felt like they tainted the good name of The Undertaker by keeping it... But true, it did mean there was always that chance that we would get what we wanted... One needs that last shimmer of hope! So as long as Kane stays named Kane and wears red and black... perhaps he too will revert. Hey... at least he's not a biker.

*giggles* On an old tape I have, there's a match....it's Undertaker vs. Isaac Yankem! I was watching it thinking "This...is so freakin' weird."
It didn't make a lot of sense for a while, yeah...having to explain the Undertaker when he looked nothing like an undertaker was almost as hard as explaining his family history. For a while it was alright, I mean, I was just so happy to see him after he'd been gone so long. I figured the motorcycle weirdness would phase itself out, but then it never really went away...I mean, "This is my yard"? Dude, what the hell are you talking about? What yard? His old speeches about the spirit of the undertaker made more sense.
I figure it's sort of like new Coke...*L* Everybody hated it and now it's over with, it's such a huge relief to have him back to his old self again that the reaction is ten times what it would have been if he'd been that way all along.

*LOL* That's a fantastic comparison! It's reaaaally true... Even in his new hybrid state, at least the feel is there, despite the lack of certain parts of the official Undertaker garb. And it gives us something to be excited for for each dual brand PPV/Smackdown PPV and the rare TV appearance, like tomorrow. I must say I've been disappointed with Smackdown otherwise... And with Paul Haymen gone from Smackdown, I'm hoping that means Vince is planning a resurgence of ECW... OLD SCHOOL would be extra nice, gather up all the old guys and start a new ECW show!
