I decided to do a realistic prediction on who I feel like will be on the base roster.Based off info we have so far no X-Men or F4 on the base roster so far so here we go.
Capcom - Ryu, X, Chun-Li, Zero, Rashid, Morrigan, Leon S. Kennedy, Dante, Asura, Strider Hiryu, Captain Commando, Rouge, Albert Wesker, Myria, Pyron.
Unlockable (Beating Story Mode) - Sigma
DLC - Jin, Frank West, Gene, Phoenix Wright, Akira
Marvel - Captian America, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Thor, Rocket w/Groot, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Kahn), Loki, Red Skull, Thanos & Ultron.
Unlockable (Beating Story Mode) - Ultron
DLC - Wolverine (Old Man ver.), Magneto, Dr.Doom, Songbird, Venom

For a 2v2 game? Remember last 2v2 game was TvC and they had 12 for each side without giants. So I would think to replace giants with 3 slots for 15 on each side would make 30.
Add 2 unlockables & 5 DLC for each side would make 42 chars which is big for a 2v2 game. I think a Season 2 is always a possibility but who knows.
Myria is the final boss from Breath Of Fire 3.
