Well, I'll keep this short, this was another of my Premium Visual Styles I've decided to port to WB.I will be making ONLY WB from now on... VS is dead..long live the king!

Very nice. But for me something wrong is in here... Why do use M$. Isn't it simplier to do the same in linux? Not only simplier but also you've got there much more possibilities! I like your style very much but i hate the system! Unfortunetly, my wifi don't want to cooperate with open source.
Think about changing OS, please...

I tried using linux.. hated it. Was like trying to work in a foriegn language and not enough support for the apps I use. I'll always use MS, I have to skin for the masses, not just the renegades. Im sure its perfect for you though. To each their own eh?

Out of curiosity, what are the applications you use?
Because thats the only thing thats keeping me from making the switch to Linux myself.
As is, I have a dual boot of Ubuntu and XP.

Well, Photoshop Cs2, Skinstudio, Windowblinds, Imageready Cs2, IconDeveloper, MSN Messenger ScreenCaptor, etc etc Im not saying I wouldn't skin for Linux for a price and if Linux had a reliable skinning engine UI.

Hmm, well there are some alternatives that you can use.. Kopete in place of MSN Messenger for example.
But im not going to push it or anything.. Ive had soem success using Wine to run Windows Apps though.
For the most part I just like to tinger in it, or if all I want is to go online ill do it in Linux.. may as well stay safe you know?

Common sense is what keeps me and my PC safe online..and I dont run antivirus.
Perhaps when Linux becomes more mainstream, i'll have another look.

What would you consider to be mainstream exactly though?
You mean support from commerical apps like photoshop?
Or do you mean usability.. because Ubuntu is really very usable indeed.
As for commercial software? Dont hold your breath.. unfortunatly.
If I could run Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Painter on Linux without the need for Wine id switch over for good.

well the favs knock you up the popular listing .. that brings in new viewers .. which brings in more favs ...which puts your shit even higher on the popular list ... which brings in more viewers ...all of it means more exposure until you have thousands of people looking at your stuff and buying your prints ... of course this only works with art you can actually sell on this site.. too bad they don't market quality skins here..

Yeah, I shudder to think the junk that would make it into a skin store on this site. As soon as I can get [link] functional I'll be adding pay themes and linking to it from here on all my work.. mostly I'm trying to foray into the commercial skinning sector though. "Desktop Advertising"..so to speak.. its going to be huge soon.

Theres several ways to market it , one, yes is for the corporate terminals.. promotes a sense of company unity and cuts down on employess wasting time customizing.
2. The client buys the theme from me to pormote their website.. its given away to its members and they gain by repeat traffic to their website Via url placement in theme and \ or a clickable gadget placed on Dektop.
3. Same deal but this time They pay me some up front then sell the theme on their site paying me a % of sales.
What better advertising can a company ask for than 24/7 exposure on a consumers desktop?

I once made a skin with ten colors for a corporate office in Indonesia .. a color for each workgroup .. it had the company logo on the start menu ... they paid me 200 dollars... and that my friend is pretty much the only money I ever made for my thousands of hours of skinning

No Treetog does stuff for Stardock and has [link] , theskinsfactory does THE best media player skins, and has some great application skinners but their WB "skinners" leave much to be desired.and the owner is a complete better than thou prick.
He and Brad at Stardock are always having pissing contests about whose company is better. I do know this, theres about to be some serious money made in skinning right now and very few quality skinners around.

Why don't people make styles for XP that we can just use right in XP (e.g. Zune, Royale, etc.) anymore? WindowBlinds slows down my computer soooooo much! I love this design; is it possible to make it without WindowBlinds?
