Description To start the new year, I'm planning of uploading daily for as long as possible. I'm still very new to digital drawing (and have never really drawn that much at all) and ergo, these sketches are very rough.

As I'm in the very early stages of learning to draw, I've been taking a free online course available on Udemy (Free Drawing Tutorial - Drawing for Beginners: How to Draw 25 Cartoons Step-by-Step | Udemy). The fourth exercise was practicing drawing a 'willy nilly whale'. Honestly, I did not enjoy this exercise much. My issue with it was that it felt very basic and there was very little room for me to explore my own creative additions, although in hindsight, I could have experimented with drawing the whales from different angles as the one major lesson to be learnt here was probably the use of curved lines and how they meet and interact. Drawing curves seems easy enough at first, but I quickly learnt how difficult it was to get the proportions right and how directionality really makes a massive difference. Of all these whales, No. Seven is my favourite, as although there is very little difference in the pod, I think this guy looks the best from a proportionality point of view.

Thanks for taking the time to view my art, and have a good day (Smile).
