Description
This is for 's contest! She wanted a new ID with her character Diamond, and the theme had to me cookies/apples/strawberries or all three of them. I was going to o all of them at first, but decided to go for just apples instead.
I used leaf brushes for the background, though :/ I'm sorry, I really hate using brushes because it makes me feel like a crappy artist, but it looked much better than when I decided to draw the leaves myself. I still have the version without background, though, so I can remake that if you don't like it this way.
I like how the appel turned out, I was thinking about how our drawing teacher in school told us to colour apples with pencil: first make it yellow, then add green and red stripeswhere the colour should be. So that's what Idid in Paint, then I smudged it in GIMP and added a little more colour. I'm glad I did it that way, now you can see more detail on the apple if you look closely
I like how the character turned out as well. Diamond is a red panda/lemur mix and I think she's adorable It was fun to draw her!
So actually, I like this pic, except for the background. I mean, I like how it looks, but I feel like I didn't make it. :/
