--->A little explanation: The Nightmares have yellow eyes because they were once made of the Sandman's dreams. There's still a little possibility of good in them. (lol look at me pretending I know how to draw horses). The rest are Fearlings, pure darkness and fear. Like the ones that overtook Kozmotis so long ago.

How did Pitch manage to scare Jamie and Sophie? I thought Jack was watching them. Not to mention Jamie said he wasn't afraid of him.

Well Jack's not there right now/yet. And you will learn why soon.
Also, Jamie wasn't as afraid as Sophie was (she was a bit too young to understand what happened last year.) Also, Jack not having been there for a year- Jamie loses some of his confidence. As time can do to children.
