Description I really desired to give you guys and 'inside' look at a DINO, and the perfect creature to create, a jelly DINO, well something like a jelly fish from the deeper trenches of the sea.
Hope its not to much, but I really had allot of fun, and it was really making my brain think of how to link all this bones X}
I'll be discuess the basic anatomy from male to female, and a little side note of the X-RAY DINO for those who love a good story!

__DINO anatomy

All the Dino species generated from a single one called the BLUE FLICKER DINO, my 'DINO', and this basic anatomy is as clear as it gets literally to seeing a DINO (for now).
All Dinos come with four limbs, long tails, horns, a skull resembling face, loose skin, and a double mouth, and common organs of course.
You maybe wondering what their loose skin is. Exactly as it is said, loose skin, Dino's have the ability to loosen their skin so that is is flexible and comfortable, the skin is well snugged on by the skull because of the four horns and spinal blades. However the loose skin is very flexible and weak near the underbelly, a sensitive spot at most. Where their skull is, is a second mouth.
Yes the draping hood like thing, is a second mouth, no teeth, no drool, no tongue. The first mouth is clearly on the skull, but is not used for consuming mostly, as the mouth is a way of communication, and ventilating air, along with installing fear into lower prey. DINO's always appear wickedly happy, but that does not determine their mood. Large Black eyes and a almost human shaped black nose, also used for ventilating and smelling.
You are still probably wondering how exactly does the second mouth work, well once the prey has slipped into the loose skin and into the pouch area of where the stomach would be, like I mentioned before a DINO can loosen its skin, they can also constrict their skin. The skin is made up of strong flat muscle that tightens slowly. The tighter they constrict the easier to pin and digest their food as the inside lining of the loose skin is layered in bacteria, constantly breaking down, the prey will be eaten alive. Once all that is consumed and broken down, it is absorbed and spread equally to where it needs to go to help the DINO continue its life, bones however get thrown back up, or more like pushed out. Dino's 'gag' reflexes are just the loose skins way of tightening and pushing the bones and whatever else out back through the hooded mouth.
I know I mentioned the stomach area being the most weak point of a DINO, much like a dragons or any lizards really, and your probably question if a prey consumed could possibly get out by breaking through the weak stomach lining. That is a no, once inside, the lining is allot tougher to break through from the inside, but the outside layer is lighter, making it just easier enough to puncture through to weak points.
Now Gender, males from females, and even though I have yet to draw a proper female, they are quite similar and only really differ in size and horns. Females unlike males have reversed horns, where as you see from the male in the picture, males have two short horns in the front followed by two larger horns. Females have larger horns in the front followed by short horns. Females are allot more aggressive and will mostly try and kill males, smaller or bigger. Females also double in size compared to males. Males and females also differ in their reproductive organs two, but that's for another story. ;}
__BIO END (updated if needed)

__X-RAY DINO

X-Rays are night stalkers, but nothing compared to Bell Ringers or other darker creatures. X-Rays are sneaky, and only have their lose skin on them, no fur, but extremely tiny scales compared to the others. They can only be found in the darkest of caves, never near the mouth of any, for the light of their planet is to much for them to bare on their exposed body. They really enjoy the damp cool shade, and sometimes warm and humid temperatures of the caverns and trenches. They are very shy, and will most likely run away at the site or sound of you. They can easily see in the dark, but rely much more on sound. They like to lay in fungi, soft moss patches, and in the beds of glowing mushrooms. They are easily addicted to fruit, but little do they find that, as mostly they consume small insects, and fungi. Depending on the type of fungi they have consumed depends on their bodies glowing coloring, they can even be multi colored at times. X-Rays have grown quite accustomed to climbing in the tunnels, caverns, and trenches, using mostly their hind legs, which are taller then their front. X-Rays also travel in small packs, mostly males, as females are as explained, more aggressive and most likely to kill or consume the males. Female X-Rays travel alone and only with their kin. Males usually travel in a group of four, or 3. They are on the smaller scale, so the more the better to fend off some of the darker and larger DINOs.

Hope this was as joyful to read as it was for me to write. X}

You have the ability to match beautiful/delicate colours with creepier subject matter and make it work. Really unique talent imo. Keep it up

I also want one of these. They could curl up on a child's bed and be a bioluminescent nightlight :3.

I'm always a fan of things with extra mouths.

Wow, you really went above and beyond with this picture. X-ray stuff is usually so simple looking, but this is gorgeous. If I'd seen this image before any of the other DINOs, I'd have thought they had translucent skin. I'm going to be coming back to this piece a lot; I love the colors.

EDIT: Oh. Some of them do have clear skin. Probably should have finished reading the info before I commented Well, the X-ray ones are my favorite then.

I am glad you like them, they were ALLOT of fun to work on and and it actually made me go and look up skeletons for a quite some time.
I really wanted to 'wow' those that really enjoy these creatures, giving them a visual and a new pretty species to look at. Luckily they are shy and friendly unlike some of the others. X}

You are also welcome to come back and study them/ colors anytime so long as you enjoyed their making.

These guys are what nightmares are made of, holy hell. I can totally see someone telling a kid a bedtime story about them to try and keep them from doing stupid shit. And I most definitely love it. This Dino in particular has a very captivating beauty to it. Something you wouldn't be able to look away from if you ever actually saw one.

I know I'd be staring in awe at one of these X-Rays, but luckily they aren't to interested in eating me, unlike some of the other ones Im about to make. X}
I am glad you are enjoying this!

Precious shy creatures. I wouldn't want to meet a female though. Unless she's on my side.

Absolutely! I'm looking forward to the others.
