This sketch I'm having fun with is the devious Mr. Scratch, of Alan Wake: American Nightmare fame. He, in turn, is having fun with Emma Sloan from said game. A while back I wrote a little fan fiction called Mr. Scratch Is Coming to Town. I loved the game and the characters, and so one day the idea of what would happen if Emma accidentally invited Mr. Scratch to her Christmas party popped into my head. I always wanted to draw at least a few scenes from that story, but I couldn't picture the right pose for this or that. This happens to be from Ch. 4.
So last week I so happened to be rereading a manga series called Rasetsu, a sequel to Yurara, by Chika Shiomi. It's about a group of psychics who deal with ghosts and demons and so forth. As you can see, I came across a scene that reminded me of something Mr. Scratch might try, so I blew it up, traced it, transferred it, then changed it so it looked more like the characters from American Nightmare. I've always wanted to try drawing in a more manga/anime style, and it's been both fun and challenging. What do you think?
