Here is the final render of my computer room. This 3d model has always been a dream for me, wanting a HUGE computer setup in a basement. With the old IBM servers and unorganized wires all over the place. Plus the Mulitple LCD screens. I hope dreams do come true.. This was another art piece i did for my graduation portfolio. I also forgot to upload this to deviantart.I modeled the environment in Maya. Using Maya's Mental Ray and Final Gather. All together the piece took 2-3 weeks to complete. Most of the time went into modeling, unwrapping, and texturing the many wires in the scene. And the lighting was a little difficult, trying to figure out how to light the mulitple objects. I am really happy on the final outcome of this piece.

I have found the computer room!
This would be my mom's nightmare, but MY ultimate dream! I can just imagine the CGI rendering power that computer configuration would have... -drools-
The only thing I would change about it would be replacing the chair with a much more comfy one, with arm rests and more padding.

haha, good point. i think my focus was more on the wires and servers being placed at the time. If i were to make any changes, that would be the first thing on the list.

Looking good! I really like how the wires turned out, too. Excellent modeling, and the lighting is nice and smooth as well; never easy with mental ray.

Thanks! I'm glad you understand the the pain, sweat, and tears of Mental Ray. Its a long process to master but can give you great results in the end.
