Hardly, this took place months ago.
Hit the "<<< Start" tab above and look at the cover art. I'm sure you'll remember when that scene took place

LOL, well I'm pretty sure they were a little to busy piloting the Morocco through that atmospheric maneuver for many shenanigans.

This looks interesting so far, I hope we get to see more.
P.S. I would rather sleep on those seat cushions then on the floor.

Oooh, agreed. This is some lovely artwork. :3 Love all the details and the shading.
And hells yes, cute story stuff. XP

Thanks. I don't know why shading feels so scary. It's not like I don't know how, I guess it feels like another opportunity to screw up a perfectly good drawing
Yup, Sandra caught in yet another internal debate with herself over her ever-more-obvious feelings for a certain someone.

Probably the same reason I have a tiny figure of SCP-173 (er, link to the reference in case you've never heard of it: [link] Beware, the SCP Foundation can get kind of addicting XP ) on my desk that I've put off painting for... probably six months? I know how to use acrylic paints. And if I goof, the figurine takes like ten minutes to sculpt again. But for some reason I'm just terrified to pick up that brush. Who knows?

Bahahaha. XD I lost months in that wiki. Months! And sharing the pain is what I do. ;D
At one point I thought about trying my hand at writing an SCP report, but no matter how I tried, I just can't get the super clinical tone right, or an idea that's engaging enough. Plus, they're harsh, harsh critics over there and I think they'd eat me alive. XD

Not quite as bad as sending a link for that site to a writer... but close
I'm still amazed I haven't faced worse criticism here than I have.Β I might have to post something over there to practice dealing with it

I know what you mean. Here and elsewhere on the net, I keep getting all sorts of positive responses, and I keep on waiting for that other shoe to drop from the sky. It must be caught on something. I've got to be committing worse infractions than just a few typos.
And yet yeah, I fear the SCP Foundation. I'm scared that they have the other shoe in containment, and it is seeking my butt. XP
If you do try it, I'd be rooting for you.

Great art, as always. Hopefully an interesting side story
If you'll take a bit of criticism though, her hand looks a little funny and because it's near the center of focus for the frame, her face, it draws enough attention for it to be noticeable.

Ah thank you. It's probably not going to be as deep as my other stories, but I hope people enjoy it all the same.
Eeeeek! Now I see it too! NOW IT'S ALL I SEE!!! AURRRRRRGH!

Well I like the characters you've built, so I think just about anything would be interesting with them. ^^'
Eh heh. Yea, I would imagine so.

Looks good, I like the shadowing/shading of Sandra and Sam.
Hopefully, X hundred years into the future, aircraft seat designs finally understand the concept of "comfortable seat cushions".

Thanks, thought since these are shorter than the main comic... and that I'm not on any real schedule with them I'd go ahead and take my time doing them.
Well of COURSE they're comfortable! ... for about twenty minutes. Give or take twenty minutes.

Silly you! Comfort? Perhaps for civilian models, but we're talking military. Somehow I doubt passenger considerations went beyond "'Will it get them there without exploding?' 'Maybe.' 'Good, carry on.'"

nomyai In reply to Sturmensky [2013-07-06 14:19:54 +0000 UTC]
That's right, how silly of me, you can't be a "rough, tough, ass kicking type" if ya sleep on sissy soft flight seats!
Well, we can only hope that one of the first, if not THE first, requirements set down by the Procurement/Contract Division was the "no unnecessary exploding while carrying troops" clause.

Hey now, that is the reason the Brits didn't invest in more heavily fortified trenches during World War I (they viewed amenities as being rather effective at softening men. Seeing as how the war still ended in a stalemate despite the Entente outnumbering and out producing the Allies badly, one can probably argue it wasn't quite as effective as a good night's rest on overall performance).
Haha, well, you never know! It wouldn't be the first time command pulled a "we have reserves" mentality.

nomyai In reply to Sturmensky [2013-07-12 11:53:32 +0000 UTC]
I never knew that one. Well, the French High Command blamed the defeat at the Maginot Line on the daily wine ration given to the enlisted troops. Hmm, I think the Germans driving AROUND it might have had a bit more to do with that.
The "we have reserves" mentality dates back quite a ways, I'm certain. Grant at Vicksburg (US Civil War) comes to mind. He had the people to waste throwing them at the Confederate defenders, who didn't.

Sturmensky In reply to nomyai [2013-07-13 21:27:09 +0000 UTC]
Worst part? The Maginot line actually functioned as intended. It was supposed to be so heavily fortified everyone would know it was suicidal to face it. Sadly, nobody had actually bothered to actually test the theory that the Ardennes was too thick to send a tank force through (cue massive flanking action, then Dunkirk, then history).
Yes, it seems the "we have reserves" mentality is depressingly common (battle of HΓΌrtgen Forest, anyone?). I'm inclined to recall a quote about "wishing the brass realized the boys on the ground aren't as gung-ho about wasting our lives as they were" or something to that effect.
