I've gotten back into Minecraft recently as well... and with that come of course the blunders XD
The first big one was at a house my friend had built that I roomed at. He had this elaborate redstone trap that would send mobs to a firepit if they tried to break in the front door. Well...
One morning, I step outside... to be struck by a flaming zombie who hopped a hedge. He sets me on fire, and triggers the trap, so we both fall into the pit and burn.
The insult to injury was my death message: "SomemuttupNorth had an oopsie-daisy."

I can't even begin how to describe how he does it, but he's quite the expert. And it works... sometimes a bit too well. And spiders have a tendency to avoid it.
