Description IDF Merkava II with mine sweeper. The Merkava is the innovative Israeli design of Major General Israel Tal. The primary design criteria was crew survivability. Every part of the overall design is expected to contribute to helping the crew survive. The engine is in the front to provide protection to the crew. There is a special protective umbrella for the tank commander to enable protection from indirect fire with the hatches open. Special "spaced armor" is in use along with protected fuel and ammo compartments.

The Merkava can also carry a small Infantry squad internally under complete armored protection.

* Using adobe illustrator's mesh tool.

* Took about 4 weeks to complete and almost screw up my PC as it needed more than 1300 layers !

* I added a cigar puffing tank commander - done separately , just to make it looks cool ^..^

* You can view the outline of this monster here [link]

* I also added a background for the above vector. You can view it here [link]

It's a main battle tank like the M1A Abrams, but there are doors in the back so it can easily carry troops.

it doesnt seem tall enough to carry troops...like they'd be hunched over..but thats nit picking

I'm just guessing now, but I assume there's just room for some jump seats.

well done work but it seems like axis of the weels are not in center with wheels themselves

That is one of the coolest tanks in the world. I'm suprised the United States doesn't have a couple of them, just to tinker with - that would be pretty ironic, seeing as how the U.S. has supplied Israel with arms and armor in the past . . .

I believed they took some for evaluation purposes. Surprisingly, this tank has no takers in the foreign market so far.

That's probably because it's designed for a very specific kind of warfare, and most countries that maintain large tank forces manufacture their own makes or buy from Russia since they're cheaper.

They tried to sell it in South America but because of political pressure, interest declined.

That makes sense.  It's hard to buy tanks when your government is in upheaval.

Or if the seller continues to attract political controversy worldwide. Hurts your chances to showcase the quality of your product.

Wow, looks almost like a photo. Excellent work.

Why a MK II though? I think the MK IV are a lot more aesthetic

Very nicely done! Not surprisingly the IDF would be worried about crew survivability, as it is now they patch up the old tanks and clean out the dried blood and give them to new recruits. Imagine the smell in there O_o
