I liked Silver and Gold as well, though when Ruby/Sapphire came out, I couldn't go back. I was only partially educated on pokemon then, it was the R/S generation, as well as thanks to Pokemon Colloseum, that I learned the others. I guess you can say I "grew up" with the R/S generation. the remakes of Gold/Silver though have definately taken my heart. waiting now for the remakes of R/S XD
