I made it for the Sister Cities competition that my school is attending. I don't usually go into art competitions,but for the first time in High School I am in Honors art, I never took an art class in High school until this year and my school takes part of this stately or some big Art competition. We were given a theme and we could chose any media including Digital, SSOOO obviously I picked digital
The theme was, How the youth of our generation will effect out technology in the Future. Because one day they (we) will take up the internet and industry companies. mainly in Technology and the INTERNET!!!! So I drew a girl, younger girl, in a place full of tech and the the big internet sites/companies on screens in the background while she is holding a ball with a question mark meaning, what will the next big hit be? And the water kinda resembles the waves of time or something, and under the water is what life was like in around the 1800's. Simple and with old people, no Technology a all. same with the pail fade out. SO YEAH thats that meaning
Made with Wacom Inuos4 tablet in Photoshop elements 6,
Did this in two sittings, took around 11 to 12 hours total to make.

yes but it was still very new depending where in the world, most of the urban nature of the US in the middle/late 1890's was in the East, not so much in the West, because settlers were still new to the land and fresh on building their houses. thats one of the resons why there was so much Ranches and stuff/farms instead of big cities in that factories. that more came a little later in that part. but yes there was still technology, like trains and small urban places, but just not as it was in the East and the technology then wasn't like it is now. That was the main point I was trying to get across, is that technology as evolved a crap load. :>
