I haven't seen a lot of stereoscopic pictures, and I think that's not alright. Stereoscopy really brings 3D into the third dimension. This is a tutorial on making and also viewing stereograms.As examples, see the ones I've made:

...I thought you were going to do one of those 3D gif pictures, as the camera steps are practically the same thing with the 3D GIF...
