Personality:
[ PROUD & SELF-RESPECTING
Nivalis is a proudly held doe. She will always defend her family name and the ones she loves no matter what others say about them. This female holds herself highly, but never above others. She'll occasionally have a regal manner when it comes to meeting her and it'll be quickly learned the more one gets to know her. She doesn't spout her proud nature to annoy others and won't use such a personality trait to think herself omnipotent. Nivalis will always look at both sides of a situation, never going in blindly. During her fawn months and greenhorn years she was taught to be fair, kind and wise with her judgement and so far at the ripe age of three she hasn't seemed to have messed up just yet. She knows mistakes will present themselves in the future, but also knows it's a part of life and won't let them get her down.
[ COURAGEOUS & INTELLIGENT
This was a trait she envied her mother for, how she could easily handle any scenario without breaking a sweat. It took this female a little longer to get the hang of being less afraid of the 'what ifs' and more hopeful towards the outcome of her actions. There will be times were she has found herself frozen, nervous and afraid and she tends to avoid the things that cause this.
[ TENDER & GENTLE
This doe is a very loving soul. Around young ones she's gentle, kind and encouraging, an almost natural motherly aura enveloping her at times. To her comrades she is also the same way, wanting them to know she appreciates their company, their friendship and loyalty. To a lover she may gain in the future she will always want him to know her level of affections towards him. With being so loving comes being loyal and being loyal is also a huge part of who Nivalis is. She can often make friends quite easily and when she gains close ones they should remember that she is one to be counted on. Her loyalty is as true as her bloodline and she'll go leaps and bounds to prove it to the right person.
[ OPTIMISTIC & LOYAL
Being optimistic is a very swell way to live life according to Nivalis. As stated before, she is loving and gives most everyone a chance before judging. She is a patient soul and takes happiness in the smallest things, finding peace in simple virtues. Being optimistic also leads to being adaptable, which is another trait of second nature to her. Nivalis can make the best of things and encourages her friends, family and loved ones to look on the brighter side of the creek.
Brief History:
[ WELCOME TO THE WORLD (Birth)
Nivalis was born into a small nomadic herd with a caring mother and without knowing her father. The herd wasn't too big, everyone knew everyone and the lead stag was always watchful of all the other deer. They lived by simple ways and for the most part managed to stay away from danger, taking refuge in a dense part of the forest.
[HEY, SPOTS! (Fawn)
Growing up with other fawns in the herd was tough on her. While most fawns bared a stunning russet, cream or tan coat Nivalis was born piebald, spotted and patchy. Her fur was brighter than everyone else's and it caused her mother to be more cautious of letting her go out and play with the others because she was so easy to see. The fawns teased her for her coat colour by calling her spotty or patches. She eventually made one friend who saw past her different coat and from then she started to build her confidence back up.
[YOU'RE NOT A KID ANYMORE (Greenhorn)
When Nivalis hit a year and a half old the herd started to get smaller and smaller. They moved to another part of the forest and because of the frequent moving few lives were lost, leaving them with little numbers. Fawns that she grew up around were branching off and leaving, finding other groups to run with. Nivalis, however, stayed with her mother, still having a close bond to her and the herd. When she came to about two years old the herd was on the move again and in this move, she lost her mother. Without her mother she was left confused, abandoned and unsure of what to do with herself. The lead stag took her in for a few months, helping her understand more of the world than what her mother was able to show. Nivalis' mother lived on in her as she matured even more, her and the lead stag becoming closer and closer as the days carried on. It wasn't until a few months more that he revealed that he was actually her father. Stunned, upset and full of emotion Nivalis left the herd and ran away, leaving everything behind to be forgotten.
[WHERE'D YOU GO? (Adult/present)
The speckled doe was still confused and torn by her past, but in her wanderings she had stumbled upon another herd's territory. With slight hesitation she waited around the border until finally deciding to venture further, hoping that whatever was in store for her would be worth leaving her life behind.
Relationships:
Role-play Example: The sun beamed through the breaks in the canopy, gracing the fern-laden forest floor with small blotches of golden light. Birds hidden in the trees sang their songs, the soft notes echoing in late morning silence and giving the woods a fresh sense of life. Brush, brush, scuffle. Slender legs and cloven hooves pushed aside bits of foliage, the elegant appendages belonging to a patchy coated doe. Her large ears perked up, her head stiffening along with her body as she stood stock-still and listened. Birds and forest ambiance were the only things she caught and a wave of ease flooded her. After a few minutes of this, she relaxed her shoulders and started to move again, walking through the medium sized trees and brush. Her olive hued eyes caught a glimpse of another doe, one from the territory she was from and when they came within eyesight of each other she gave a courteous dip of her snout. They passed each other with very little small talk and carried on with their jobs, taking 'inventory' on the forest in a way. Nivalis moved on until she reached a clearing, one that was unfamiliar to her and maybe even the herd. She stayed hidden, kept in the dim shadows of the treeline while she observed the clearing for a while. After many drawn out moments of observing and taking in information she backed away from the empty meadow and began her trek back to the herd, hoping the stag would be happy to hear about the information she gathered.
