---*UPDATE*--- new render with mental ray!If you've seen the rest of my gallery, you know tat I do all kinds of 2D arts. But I have always wanted to take thing to the next level and learn about 3D arts as well. So this is what I am learning in school atm, 3D modeling~~~
Our first project is to model chess pieces! I know I am a total beginner at this so these stuff won't impress u at all but I just want to keep a record of my learning path on DA

It looks really nice. Very clear and sharp.
It seems that modelling a chess board and set is a popular assignment in 3D classes.
I should probably try to do one.

Thank u thank u. And yeah, it's a popular beginner's project. it's simple enough, u pretty much just add edge loops, extrude, repeat

This is pretty awesome for a beginner and render quality also looks good.
When i started off with Mental Ray, i totally sucked at it

Oh well.. actually it's not rly the first time anymore since i updated my old render @_@ the old work looks horrible.. cuz i was so noob back then i cudn't stand it so i updated it Q_Q

This reminds me of the 3D Chess game for Windows Vista, and I think it's on Windows 7 also.

looks great if you use other programs you can let them move and makea hole game just kidding it would take veeeeerrrrrry long to do that
but still this looks good
