Description
I've had plans for these two all through law school but I sadly was much too busy to do anythign with them. Now that I'm free, I'm working on a comic of these two to be updated alongside Burning Bridges.I also drew her: HERE!
Phoebe Parr-Fitzroy is shy and gentle; she's interested in acoustic guitar, map-making, and taking care of her very large, very poor family.
...Until the day the great white bear asked to marry her. Things went downhill from there very quickly.
I cant wait to show you more art of these two. There's no doubt he's secretly a man in disguise, but gruff grumpy Valemon is far from the ideal prince. ;w; And I love these two very very much.

In part, it's because of the "Eros and Psyche"/"B&B" aspect of it. Lots of potential character development and progression. Awkward falling-in-love-over-time adorableness mixed with coping snark for the win!
...as long as it's done well.

This is gorgeous! I love your designs for them so much. And as Burning Bridges is extremely well-written and I love the premise for this comic already, I'm super excited for this comic! Plus their names are quite lovely.

THanks a ton! It's nice to see someone recognise the story ;w; and I promise it won't be a dull retread of what you've read, or some silly 'twisted fairytale' nonsense.
What do you personally like about it?

I love the heroine's reckless courage, and how she stands up and decides to fight for what she wants, rather than just waiting around for her prince to return. It's essentially just a retelling of Cupid and Psyche but whereas Psyche had no choice, the heroine is actually allowed to choose the courtship, although her dad has to convince her.
And, not knocking on other fairytales as I love most of them, nor am I knocking on males either, but ESWM has more positive female relationships than others tend to have; an old woman the heroine meets isn't an evil crone trying to lead her to her doom but someone who gives her an apple and directs her to a neighbor who may be helpful, the neighbor also gives her a gift and lends her a horse. The North Wind's characters is pretty awesome too; he knows the journey to the castle will exhaust him and yet he still offers to help the heroine. Sure, as many old stories can be, the tale is a little sexist but it's still one that I love.
By the way, I suddenly remembered a favorite artist of mine whom I follow on Tumblr had a little mini-ESWM project and I don't know if it would help you with your comic but I'll link you to it if you'd like to see it: www.celine-kim.com/east-of-the…
