Now Gilda here is a subject I'd like to categorize as a misunderstood individual. Personally I don't hate or dislike her, if anything I'd like to know more about her and hopefully more will be explain in season 2As for the art, just a little practice with the light and shadow and since I never draw Gilda before so here it is.

I still hold out hoe Gilda will reurn in Season 4. Just... after watching her episode, my heart broke to see RD (the bearer of Loyalty), callously brush her off after Gilda probably just had a bad day.

Time will tell if Studio B have any plan for her return in Season 4. I find that odd too since I'm pretty sure RD knows Gilda more longer than the rest of the ponies.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gilda again. I felt of the characters in the show, she got it rough. She probably wasn't as bad as we thought...and her design was awesome great pic dude.

Absolutely agree with your description there. I really like Gilda - not so much for what she *IS*, as much as what she *COULD* have been. It still bothers me a bit that they didn't really go into detail as to why Gilda is the way she is, other than "she changed." =/
I have my own theories as to how she became what she is... but if the show decides to elaborate on her, I'd be interested to see what the "official" explanation is.

Nah, I don't plan on coloring it. I'm horrible at coloring.
Besides, I like the black and white look. lol
It gives a slight melancholic feel to it for me.

Thanks man. To be honest I wasn't sure what kind
of mood am I aiming for at first until I've done with
the shadow then decided to lighten up the eye, add
some detail and WHAM! Ambiguous...that's the word
I've been looking for.
I know what kind of emotion do I want to spur in my
art most of the time, just that my limited vocab prevents
me from giving a proper description. I guess that's
the drawback for being an artist. What we can't put in words
we make it up in our arts.

On second look, it *does* look like someone forgot her birthday.
Pinkie was... unstable, but not particularly violent as such. They'd make a good pair I think, I've no doubt that if Gilda had shown up in that episode she could have convinced her to pull some very dangerous pranks.

Pinkie knows her limit on how far is too far
but knowing her nature it's a bit hard to know
what she'll do next haha.

I think Gilda knows what too far is, it's just her definition differs. (It's not like she'd kill someone, she just doesn't mind if people get injured or swindled.)
Pinkie I think is an apt case for doing something really, really bad by accident. (Especially given the target audience, the lesson 'Think before you act' has been seen in a few cartoons.) I can easily see her seriously injuring someone (Physically or emotionally) via a poorly thought out prank. (Or via pinkie sense, or some random burst of depression; what would she have done if she'd actually got MAD at Gilda? Tried to force her to party? That might not end well.)
Yeah, Pinkie is a serious injury waiting to happen.

One of the best Gilda images I've seen. She's an interesting character for sure, I also loved how she was voiced by the same actress as Revy from Black Lagoon. Regardless of whatever history she may have, her actions in parts of that episode were inexcusable. I'd like to see her return in season 2, but hopefully Dash talks some better sense into her and brings her around a bit so she's less of an antagonistic bitch.

Gilda is the hardest to love and tolerate. Worse than nightmare moon, worse than trixie. When she blew up on fluttershy........
