Description
And so, the brave kittens, upon finding a cave of mystery, have decided this is the place for the tribe. The hunting is good, and the land a fertile one, with many bits of string to capture, and adult kitties to bring down. And so it was good.

They... are... EVERYWHERE!!!
They have discovered that their natural prey is human feet... and they must rid the world of human feet at every opportunity... as human feet are va threat to all... and thus, they are all, very much, on the attack!

It was fun, but there was very little light to work with, so I used longer shutter speeds... it was fun trying to get them to stay still long enough!

i'm happy to see it from you.
and that's give the possiblity to try different technic of photography, speed shutter,aperture...
a little things if you permitted me,your ISO it's to high,
3200 don't give a very fine result.

Warflight In reply to zanck19 [2009-12-30 11:46:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah... not all of them were that high. I had the ISO set to 400 when I started, but upped it along with slowing the shutter, and opening the aperture all the way in order to get a bit more out of the light. As I said before, the room was very VERY dark.. the only light in the room was coming from a hall way light that was quite a distance away, and around a corner. It was dark enough in the room, that my roommate Jaleth wouldn't have been able to walk through without turning a light on. So these were more of an experiment as to how little light do I really need for a photo.

There is a style that I want to do... something of my own... and I am still looking for it. This [link] is close to that style of what I want. Very close to the style that I wish to be my own. And so I experiment, and see what I can do.

it's for that i give you a lot of good comment,
this photo is the start of "your style".
(if your permited me,try a serie of photo with "sensual theme" just for you,not for submit.I'm sure that help you for try your style)

I have been considering that... my main focus is the way I use the lighting with the backgrounds though.

if i said you for "sensual theme" it's because you give powerfull shot, but you don't explain all your sensivity.
i think you "afraid" to don't be respecfull with model,
but respect is give you best,
just take time to try model for intimate serie and i'm sure after you think different.
"my main focus is the way I use the lighting with the backgrounds though." is really fine but you photography model not object,i know you know it and i know model like be sensual because it's beautiful.

This is very true... my focus on lighting and background though, is to present the model in the best, most respectful, and complimentary way possible. If the model doesn't look good, then what sort of photographer would I be?

a bad photographer!
but for try your style you do understand the model,
all woman want be "sexy" and that's normal.
your a good photographer, that's really sure,i just ask question for you progress.
i have see your progression from few time and you have all time made model beautiful,no worries.
i'm sure outdoor and cat photo have help you,it's a different way of photography, but sorry if i disturbed you but an sensual and a little(really little) erotic serie help you for go more high.
after this serie i'm sure you can explain your sensivity(sensibility) and your creativity with simplicity like in this photo :
[link]
i can see in this photo you like woman not for body but for everything that represents a woman body,shape,mind,spirit,joy,sadness....
i like this discution,it's very interresting.

Aww, thanks! The photo has a very simple look to it, which I was going for... just a simple nude... and simple in appearance actually takes a lot of work! It's still not exactly what I wanted (I love the light on her, but I wanted the background a bit whiter, so as to not distract from the model, and her form at all) but yeah... I want the world to see the models I work with... not just body and form, but I want to give a sense of personality and spirit as well. One cannot speak to the photos, to see what the subject is thinking, and so I try to give an idea in the pose, and attitude that the shot takes on.

of nothing,
it's just the reality!
if you want i can try more white background.
but for me he is really fine like this, the background is a little more white than skin of model that give harmony.
if I made whiter it will become useless.
but it's just my view.

No worries... I was just trying for something where there is no distraction from the model.

That she did! It's her first litter... (though the plan is to get her fixed after she's done nursing, but before she goes into heat again...)

Heh... thanks! It was so hard doing low light photography of them... it was a darkened room, and I was exposing the photo at about ΒΌ of a second for the shot... which gave them plenty of time to move about and blur it! Fortunately, I know a few chirps that will get a kitten to freeze for a few seconds without losing their pose... if only one could do that with children, I could have a thriving, and profitable portrait studio going!

Oh, of course! Well, and batting at the big kitties from the safety of the "cave"... it seems their aunts and uncle are very excited about them being out Both mama kitty, and daddy kitty follow them everywhere and protect them fiercely... it's interesting to see daddy kitty as a protector... he's been there watching them, and their nest from the beginning, and chases the other cats away, and is with them when mama isn't... I never expected a nurturing nature from a male cat, but it seems he smells his own scent on all five of them (only one father... cats can have kittens in one litter that are from multiple fathers, but these are all his)
It's almost "Disney" like to watch the "family unit" like that.
