I found this photo on DA at [link] (please look)

I liked it so much I decided I had to draw it for my office on high quality, big paper (18x24) and frame it and all that.

This is a small version to try and figure out all my issues. Currently, my biggest problem is how to get the intense black without going over the area so many times that it kills the paper.

I think I captured the overall shapes pretty well. The foamy part on the right is funky. I haven't yet figured out a good way to render the reflected light. I didn't work on the foreground much so it is way off from the reference photo.

I DID discover a nifty way to create the texture under the falling lip where it's all glowy using a qtip and tortillion.

I'm going to do more of these and post these as a series, then move them into scraps when I do the final one for real. I figure a only few months of work to get it right.
