Description
See a penny, pick it upPut her in your pocket
Locket in your trouser.
In silence it gleams
In chink it glints.
Will she or wont she?
Grow to change
To some other number with which
Perhaps
To exchange some place for
Something small and insignificant.
Or will she be as
Pennies are
And keep your pocket company
Nudging your thigh,
scratching your phone.
Always there, never spent, never spent.
Always there, never lent, never lent.
Alone in your pocket locket.

It's like stream of consciousness, my favorite form of poetry besides free verse.
