Description
Set up2 Metz 58 Speedlights, Gary Fong Cloud (Main light) and light sphere (Back Light) plus one fill reflector. Three TT5 II Pocket wizards for speed light control with an AC3 to balance outputs. Two Pocket Wizard flex units to control shutter function.

Great image, with a seriously intense gaze there!
Just one comment on the lighting, since you were testing stuff, you say - the catchlight seems too far to the left - there is a highlight in the left eye (on the right as one looks at it) which, for me, appears too deeply in the shadow. If whichever of the 17 lights you used for the catch was over to the right (as the photog sees it), that highlight would seem more natural to me. Possibly its also too intense - down a stop or three.
But otherwise, it looks like it's taken with natural high-window light, my personal favourite style.

Very good, Wayne. It's been a sort of mild winter here in South Dakota. More snow than last year though.
DA is giving me fits and either not letting me comment or not letting me favorite or both so I been laying low until the bugs get worked out of this new upgrade

The winter here has been more normal for us. The coldest we have had as with wind chills in the -47ΒΊC (-52ΒΊF) range with temperatures around -30-37ΒΊC. Nothing has lasted for very long though, (A few days as opposed to a few weeks) so that is different from past winters.
I have not noticed any major problems at dA, but then I spend only a few minutes here in the morning, and then look at some submission in the evening if I have time. I am almost never active on the weekends now, My ow things have changed.

Hmmm, I think when I need to do such complex lighting setups, I'll just visit my local community theater and "borrow" their stage. It helps that I'm friends with the employees, have rebuilt their lighting and sound systems for them, and have a key to the light booth. (^_^)

it was not really that complex Hoyt, but I was pushing the envelop on some of the equipment as a way of testing its capabilities for the speedlight workshop in two weeks.

I have little or no experience in remote flash operations. I'd love to take your class, but an ocean separates us.

Remote flash can be a challenge. Many speed lights have remote capability built into into them, which makes some functions easier. But sometimes you need or want to use a separate system, like a pocket wizard. Once you figure it all out it makes sense, but just turn things on in the wrong order, and nothing works properly.
If you want I can send you my class notes. It is a live presentation, so not everything is contained in the notes, but they may be of use.
