Are you sure that's smoke and not steam rising from cooling towers? If it's steam, it's harmless and does nothing to the environment.

interesting, yes, but look at this picture. The high clouds indicate cooler weather and increased ability for condensation. This is WATER VAPOR!!! Not smoke.

I'm definetelly not an enviormentalist as most "nature concious" people rigth now. In my opinion demanding any altruism = hipocrysia. Personalising nature = bs. Species' dying out = natural selection. Preserving =/= makeing better.
Though i agree with most of concrete enviormentalists demands - while no forests enviorment would be no worse for nature and would give birth to many new interesting species, we - the humanity - would have lots of additional problems haveing to synthesis oxygen for itself. So i think that humanity should take care of enviorment as an long term investition, rather than as prohecys fulfillment. Still careing a lot more than now.
