the smoke looks like it was put there... the lighting for the smoke doesn't look like it matches the lighting of the buildings, pipes, etc...

the contrast of shadows. i know, it seems like i'm grasping at straws a bit here, but i really mean it. while the sky sets a nice backdrop, there is an interesting contrast in the content of the shadows that i find appealing. (or at least they are nearly shadows...)
