Description
The cold sub-zero nights are claiming the streams in advance of the winter snow ...a bridge of ice was almost complete over this mountain creek ... only the fastest moving currents were still visible.
... The last open run of the year.

Ooooh - it looks like the waters defying gravity 'cause of the way the ice is around it *nodnod*

The long shutter on this was brilliant. I've seen lots of pictures like this, but the iceicles in front of the blurry water make it so unique. I love how much they contrast with the water

Yay for monochrome - lovely, lovely, lovely. And I bet it takes a bit of effort to get such a shot!

It barely seems possible that the icicles would even survive with all the water flowing...very nice colors.

they are formed by spray ... the slow exposure gives the illusion they are right against the water like the rest of the edge... but at that point they are suspended a foot in the air because of the drop

strangely enough, this looks really fun.
Not to mention, i feel like snapping a bit of it off and plonking it into my glass of coke
Your photos always make me feel like eating, somehow. That's a good thing though.... right?

Your winter/ice photos are always great, but this has got to be one of the best winter/ice photos I've ever seen. Makes me feel cold just looking at it.
